Revision - Thick Skin.
WORTH IT
Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with Dr Ihsan and Nadia.
Around 10 years ago I had a failed rhinoplasty in the UK (Cambridge and Windsor) with very “reputable” and well-known surgeons, and it cost me over £10,000.
Honestly, the aftercare and overall experience in the UK was really poor, and I was left with what I can only describe as a “botched” nose. I’ve had to live with that for the last 10 years and it really affected my confidence
The second surgery did improve things a bit, I won’t lie, but I was still v unhappy. My nose was uneven and I couldn’t breathe properly from one side, which was frustrating every single day. When I went back to raise my concerns, they asked me to pay more money to fix it, which just didn’t sit right with me at all. I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t done properly the first time when we had already discussed everything.
What made it worse was being told after surgery that he didn’t think certain changes were “necessary” and that I already had a “nice nose”… but then later agreeing I needed another revision….just at an extra cost.
They also blamed it on scar tissue and said I had thick skin and that’s just how I heal, which I’ve now found out isn’t true. I decided to leave it as i thought incase it gets worse.
Fast forward to 2025, I randomly met up with a friend from school who I hadn’t seen in years and turns out she’s had a nose job. I was honestly shocked when she told me she had one because her nose looks so natural... I asked for her surgeon’s details and decided to reach out via instagram
From the very beginning, the doctor was so helpful and easy to talk to. I asked for a video consultation because I really wanted to explain everything properly, and we had a long call where I went through all my concerns. I wasn’t even charged for it, which was surprising considering most clinics in the UK were asking for £200+ just to speak to someone.
Because of my previous surgeries, I needed a rib graft, which did worry me at first. But everything was explained properly and I was reassured it’s quite common in revision cases and wouldn’t be as bad as I was imagining. It does cost more but still cheaper than the UK.
After about 6 months, I finally decided to go ahead and booked my surgery in Istanbul.
My nose had a deviated septum, uneven lower cartilages, and excess bone on the bridge. I also needed an alar base reduction.
The doctor explained everything in detail and reassured me the result would look natural and actually suit my face , which was really important to me after everything I’d been through.
I can honestly say I’m really happy with the care, the service, and just how I’ve been treated overall. The doctor is very warm and you can tell he genuinely understands how much something like this can affect you.
I’m only 5 days post op, so still very early, but I’m already so much happier. I know it’s only going to get better as the swelling goes down as I can see it’s shape and projection in the tip.
We’re staying in touch and I’ll be going back to visit again at some point at my own leisure
I would definitely recommend them to anyone who’s been through a bad experience or is just looking for a natural result and to feel listened to.
They also arranged all of my transport to and from the airport and hotel etc.. they booked the hotel ( few options depending budget)
I’ll update again in 3/6 months with my final results as currently it’s very swollen.
Thank you Dr Ihsan!!
