Exceeded Expectations! I Feel Like I Have the Nose I Originally Wanted.

After having not so great results with two different rhinoplasties and doctors, I really felt hopeless. After my first revision I was depressed the entire year waiting what seemed like eternity to get my nose fixed. The PS I went to did everything i didn’t want him to do. I went for a hump removal and left with a septoplasty, multiple grafts added to nose, bridge outfractured to be wider, and overall unnatural appearance to nose. It completely changed my appearance. I spent the entire year researching revisions, on realself, and at consultations to try to make a “good” decision for what I considered my final chance with a tertiary revision. I saw before and after photos from Dr. Rohrich in Texas and instantly felt like I had found my doc. Consultations over skype and then one in person were slightly awkward which made me nervous but I think was because I had so much intensity wanting to know everything he was going to do to fix it. The day of surgery finally came and I just thought tell him what you want and let him do the rest. Picking him was the best thing I could’ve ever done. I’m still early in recovery but my results so far seem like the results I wanted 8 years ago when I had my first rhinoplasty! Better than expected. I will always be grateful to Dr Rohrich for helping me. He was so kind and compassionate before/after surgery and during cast removal. I feel like I have a new outlook on life and can finally put this terrible chapter behind me. I can get married, enjoy my family, and start my own without this lingering in my mind. Thank you so much Dr. Rohrich, Letty, Dr. Rohrich’s nurse during surgery, Angela, Dr. Balek (probably mispelled sorry), my post-op nurse who took me out to the car and took plenty of time explaining everything to my worried fiancé, and Joni. Even though we are paying for a service you are changing lives!

I'm considering him for a revision. Will you mind sending/posting photos? I would be most grateful.

Do you live in Dallas? If not, how do they accommodate out-of-town patients? How do you do follow-up appointments?

Would you mind sharing some pics (either here or via direct message)? This is great -- I'm really happy for you!

What do I do for this?

tbee16
Things we going okay while I waited for swelling to go down but now I’ve noticed I have a lot of scar tissue on the left side of my bridge where my precious PS had placed a strut graft and my recent one removed it. I’ve had 2 steroid injections to the area. It’s ruining my results.

Can anyone give me advice on how to fix?

For soft tissue issues, the only fix I know of is filler (see liquid rhinoplasty or nonsurgical rhinoplasty). Having had seven surgeries on my nose, including grafts, I can tell you that each surgery created new problems. Filler is a terrific option, although temporary and expensive in the long term. It is also an art, both for aesthetic and safety reasons, and so I spent a lot of time researching doctors. I ended up flying from one coast to the other three times for injections before my nose was even. I should have gone back for a fourth injection, but ran out of time and money. The plastic surgeon I went to is truly an artist, and focuses his practice on injections. Most people seem to get away with one treatment, but the doctor will be able to tell you how much you will need. There is a limit to how much filler can be put into the nose at one time, and there was roughly a four week waiting time between injections. Since I tend to retain filler for a long time, my results lasted about four years. However, the official time is one year. As you are facing a fix of some kind, you could also try injecting steroids on the other side of your nose to try to bring balance, but that could end up making things worse. Hope you are able to find a good resolution!

I don’t think I would want filler placed on the other side to mimic the large side of the left? Is that what you mean have done? I’m going for some steroid injections in September. Would it be possible you think to have a revision with the scar removed then the skin stitched down to prevent further scar from building in that area?

Would you please share the name of the plastic surgeon you are describing as being really great at injecting nasal filler? Thanks.

When was your surgery? I think it takes one year any ways to get small

Have you found another surgeon to fix your nose what was Dr rohrich response- I'm deciding what I'm going to do right now what action I'm going to take not happy with my results

I had a revision rhino with Dr Richard Davis in FL a year ago and am happy with my results. Have you considered consulting him? He's very knowledgeable especially with revisions. Personally, I'm not sure I'd go the filler or repeated steroid injections route. I've heard steroids can be helpful IF used sparingly. Just be careful. When was your surgery?
