TL;DR: If you’re unhappy with your results or experience complications, don’t expect Dr. Hanege to provide support. He and his team will block or ignore WhatsApp messages.
I chose Dr. Hanege for a revision ethnic rhinoplasty and chin lipo (the chin lipo was performed by another doctor) after my primary surgery resulted in a polly beak deformity. My goal was a more natural, feminine nose that didn’t get bigger when I smiled. I wanted a smaller version of my natural born nose. My surgery took place in September 2024.
Immediately after surgery, Dr. Hanege came to see me, showed me the table photo of my nose, and told me the procedure was a success. At my cast removal appointment, I was okay with how my nose appeared, though I was concerned that the tip looked too pointy. Dr. Hanege commented that my nose would probably result in another polly beak deformity. In hindsight, this was a concern that should have been discussed before surgery, not after. I received a steroid shot, was given post-op care instructions, and was encouraged to return for follow-up appointments if possible.
The first six months of post-op care went smoothly. Communication was timely and consistent, mainly through Didem, who always responded to my questions and concerns. Unfortunately, things changed after I sent my nine-month post-op photos with concerns. By then, Didem, Ali, and the other staff I had interacted with were no longer there, and the new staff provided little to no support. The tip had dropped, my nose and tip were noticeably crooked, and the sides of my nostrils were too pinched in. It did not look natural and does not look like a nose I was born with. Because communication was slow, I reached out to another of Dr. Hanege’s WhatsApp numbers, as I felt I was being given the runaround, and received a favorable response.
I ultimately flew back to Turkey for an in-person appointment so he could properly assess my nose. Dr. Hanege was unprepared for the meeting. He had not reviewed my photos or messages on WhatsApp and did not know the purpose of my visit. I felt like a number. I repeatedly told them my surgery date, and Dr. Hanege went through his phone to find the photos he had taken of me pre- and post-op. He gave me a steroid shot (which did improve the appearance of my nose), mentioned that my grafts were visible, told me my nose was “95% symmetrical,” and said it looked fine and I didn’t need to return. I was shocked that he acknowledged visible grafts yet did not suggest monitoring or follow-up. After returning home, I did not receive any follow-up messages from his office as I had before.
On August 6, I formally requested a revision, shared photos, and asked what my options were if a revision was not possible to achieve my desired results. After following up multiple times, I finally received a brief reply on August 16 and 17 saying my request had been sent to “the relevant person.” Since then, I have heard nothing back. I sent a final request in both English and Turkish on August 31 to all of Dr. Hanege’s WhatsApp business numbers, requesting a response by September 6. Where I once received a favorable response, I was met with silence. I did receive one random message saying “Hello Simon.” I’m not sure who Simon is, but it only highlights the lack of professionalism from Dr. Hanege’s office.
It’s been well over a month since I requested a revision with no response, and I haven’t even reached a year post-op. I do not recommend Dr. Hanege. When it comes to facial surgery, you don’t want a doctor who disappears instead of providing proper follow-up and support.

Got a response!
Two days after my RealSelf review posted, I received a response from Rula apologizing and asking for a date for the revision. They did say Dr. Hanege would do the revision and the only thing I would pay is hospital fees, hotel, and transportation.
