5 months update - my life is shattered
Posting some pictures to show you the things that is stressing me too much. If you see there are empty cartilages on side wall which was not visible from front pictures but can be clearly seen from this angle. 2nd right picture shows my wierd smile and crease in bottom which will never improve only can be addresed in revision which cant be assured though. How my beautiful face turned ugly after this surgery which i never thought of. I am too worried how the width of my nose (shown in left 1st picture) can be restored in revision. Does any1 has similar fixure during their revision pls tell me your experience so that i can built some coverage and confidence while planning for revision. I am very depressed, too much stressed and mourned from this outcome :(

Nose is changing.. I am afraid
Its been a month i havent posted a review. Trying to stay positive but things are scary as the swelling goes down. Nose has become so tiny and narrow, do not see improvement in tip going down, it seems it is fixed to its final position. I m so afraid of checking mirror and facing camera. My nose runs whenever i eat something thats really strange, i cant wipe and squeeze my nose like earlier it feels it will break.. Just tap tissues when it runs, i often gets headache and feel pressure pain on dorsal as if nose is carrying some weight. My inner valve hurts from inside as if someone is constantly holding my nose and feels like something is stopping me to breath completely.. My nostrils goes up when i speak that graft is holding tip and not allowing to move, my face looks angry all the time due to nostrils holding so high (check pic). My coumella hurts if i try to touch it i am towards 5 months dont know what are these problem whether its a healing or permanent. Dont feel visiting hospital and my surgeon where i had my surgery i feel depressed after visiting. My surgery was done by 2 doctors one by ENT and another by plastic surgeon for hump and correcting deviation. Let me think to see ENT what he has to say to all this functional issues. I dont want to visit plastic surgeon he makes me sad and hopeless.... I am trying not to think about it so that i can focus on day to day activities but thats so difficult. One good thing is i have stopped taking antidepressed and trying to stay strong so that i plan for revision.

I see the differences you describe but I also see hope! it is different but I feel like it is doable. Im so happy to see that you've stopped taking antidepressants and you're already in your 5th month! I wish this year could be over for me already. The gym is the only thing giving me strength to move on. I know you don't feel attractive, I don't either. I barely even make eye contact with anybody anymore. But from what i see, 90 percent of people wont even comment on it, 70 percent won't even notice. don't pause your life because you're afraid of what other people might think! They aren't gona pay your bills ;) so their opinion is irrelevant. Go to any specialist and every consultant you can see. Chances are, they have seen much much worse!! I wish you all the luck. .
thanks cruelandunsual, how u doing...i hope you doing well... I wish things go by what u said..and there will be a day where we can get this fixed and love our nose.. Some day i am strong and some day i am worst worrying and regretting things... Going through lots of mood swings... Thanks to you people who are saving lifes.. Sending hugs..
I'm surviving! The same, ups and downs! So when I have an up I try to make the most of it and be as productive as possible. I'm allowing myself to feel the emotions but not dwell in the pity and regret for too long. Need to learn to forgive myself and have faith that better days are coming. I hope you're doing alright and are also practicing forgiveness with yourself, and loving yourself. Wishing you all the best
Do you follow any trick to forgive yourself? I day n night worried thinking i lost my beauty for forver.... Will happy days come again... Will i be able to leave normal again.. Will i be able to face camera again... This all things makes me so sick n insane....hope u r doing good and less worried and preparing yourself for revision.
I wish I had the answer :( I am still trying to find a way to move past it. Everyday is a new day. Try to think of the bigger picture- there is so much more to us that our noses, there's no much more out there. I remind myself that everyday there's so much more happiness I have yet to discover, so much more love and joy to experience. On days when that doesn't work I remind myself how blessed I still am. How much I need to keep going for my family and the people who love me, if not for myself. Be kind to yourself. Stand in front of the mirror, look at your new face, tell yourself I love you and I forgive you no matter what. It sound stupid but I do that some mornings.
There's so much more*

I do not see major damages to your nose, sorry but rhynoplasty inevitably changes your nose and your face.
It might not be the best result but you are not disfigured. Your nose looks better than the original in most pics.

Oh really thanks... The first review pictures were swollen taken at 6 weeks so you dont see differences... Now after 4 months the swelling has gone down and the nose has shrink... I wish i could share the current pictures but i am so horrified to click pictures as it panics me and takes me to depression..so staying away from camera.
I do not know about now, but if I have to judge the pics I see here there is no evidence of big mistakes from the surgeon.
If you do not breath and your nose got worse after a couple of months than it is another story and you should seek another opinion visiting a reputable surgeon.
My nose is way worse than yours.
I did not have a large nose and now, thanks to surgery, I have a wider nose.
My small hump is still partially visible and breathing issues not fixed.

@Giorgia9.... I guess you have not gone through all reviews.. I am still having breathing problem for which i always wanted to have surgery.. There were 2 surgeons work on my nose.. One ent surgeon who has actually removed by blockage but plastic surgeon has messed up as he has narrow down and removed too much while fixing the deviation which again causing the breathing issue, it is so narrow that i cant even put my fingers in my nostrils.. Nose is still deviated to left and i still feel bump on my bridge when i move my fingers. The most horrifying thing is i lost my original smile my nose used to drop and wide when i used to smile now since the nose is narrowed from side and bottom it is blocking my smile.. Ofcourse this things cannot be shown or replicated in pictures.. Nose plays major role during facial expressions.. Just idle nose in picture cant be judge. Also we just cant compare noses with others as every nose and works differently for every individual. You may not see what i see.
@Giorgia9 ... I would hope you will find someone who can fix your mess.. And get what to want... Feel free to chat whenever you feel low.. We are here to support..
Did you have a columella strut graft put in?
Yes i have columella strut... even can be seen from outside of my skin.. Looks like he placed the bigger one
Oh ok I think that's what's causing the turn up tip. I have one too and hate it. I think my nose looked better long with the droop. I hope I can get it taken out one day

When did you have your primary surgery?
You need to wait a year before you can go for a correction.
Also, I think your nose looks prettier than before, more elegant. But your own opinion is, of course, more important. :)

It happened on 23 sept 2019. If you only look at nose.. It looks in shaper but it doesn't suit my face..
i totally feel the same as you, sharp nose doesn't suit me, wish i came to that conclusion before i had rhinoplasty, am so in love with my wide, flat, cute original nose now
I know we all made mistake hating our original nose but there is still a hope we can fix this lets look forward and be strong.
Funny, how we all are different. I never hated my nose before the surgery, but now, after the surgery I really hate how it looked before. I can't even look at my old pictures - that horrible nose destroys everything. Cannot imagine how I could live with it for 51 years. I have a feeling it has changed to the worse with age. I had a very bulbous tip and asymmetry. Love my new nose.
Honestly your results look amazing, but i can empathize with unwanted change. What youre referring to is reverse osteotomies and ive read its relatively simple to perform.
I was much more attractive before. :( reverseing osteotomies heard tricky and not all surgeons can successfully achieve that.
Hi sonald2901,
Outfracture does not provide a predictable result. The bones have a tendency to shift inward due to tensions of the skin. Packing the inside of the nose will prevent bones from moving inward but packing is only temporary. The broken bones take a while to heal. So what surgeons prefer to do instead of outfracture is place cartilage by the sides of the nose to create a wider nose appearance.
The reason why osteotomy was performed was because your hump was removed. When your hump was removed, you had an open roof deformity. To close out the gap, osteotomy was conducted to bring the bones together. Another method to close the open roof is perhaps placing spreader grafts in the gap. You can see how osteotomy performed by googling, "Dr Rohrich 5 osteotomy in rhinoplasty youtube."
What do your family and friends think of your original nose vs new nose?
Thanks.

But its doesnt make any point regretting now... Lets look forward how we can improve this bcoz thinking of past "if or whether" it is only gonna hurt and make u weak.
I am thinking of enrico riobitti for revision. Stay strong... I am trying too... I know its hard... We can get through this..
I saw the doctor gallery, some great outcome there, I feel better already, there's hope out there, am sure :)
update me.

Yes i am the original poster of this review.
I am so scared of revision

and that I can achieve a similiar pre surgery nose but there is nothing that can be done to reverse the alar base reduction.
I would love to speak with any Robotti patients/former patients or anyone with success stories.
I think your summary of what was done during surgery completely makes sense, especially the cephalic trim, rotating, suturing and narrowing of the lateral crura. Any of those maneuvers could potentially affect the upper lip function and should be able to be reversed by a skilled surgeon. If only most surgeons understood these concepts like we do lol!
