Life changing revision rhinoplasty with Mr Ali

WORTH IT$9,771
When I was 18, I decided to go abroad to Poland for rhinoplasty. I paid £2000 and thought I was getting a great deal. As time went on I became less and less happy with my end result of my first surgery and my nose started to look quite deformed. My nose was a lot longer than before my nose job and there were lumps and bumps in places that didn’t have them before. It was a lot worse in some ways, and only better in minor ways.

Seven years later, I decided that I was definitely going to get a revision with a different surgeon. When I started my search for the perfect surgeon, I wanted someone who had been doing facial plastic surgery for more than 20 years. I wanted someone who had an old school approach to plastic surgery, rather than a trendy plastic surgeon who was giving people what they wanted based on trends (pointy noses that are seen all over surgeons on Instagram). I didn’t want to go to a surgeon who had a social media presence, as I did not want their surgical technique to be influence by trends in plastic surgery.

I found Mr Ali as he is the resident plastic surgeon at my local private hospital. I booked in a video consultation with Mr Ali for £25. I had my video consultation within two days and Mr Ali was the perfect gentleman, he was very knowledgeable, sincere and kind. Mr Ali put me at ease about the surgery and I instantly knew that I wanted him to perform my rhinoplasty. One week later, I saw Mr Ali for my in-person consultation and secured my surgery date for four weeks later. Start to finish, the full process took just under six weeks from booking my original video consultation to having my surgery.

I am beyond pleased with the results. As you can see from my pictures, my nose had started to look like a witches nose and was changing all the time from my first surgery, in which I believe poor surgical techniques were used. I told Mr Ali that I wanted a dramatic result, that I did not want to have this nose anymore and that I wanted it to look completely different; Mr Ali took my concerns into account and said that a significant reduction would be possible and that he would lift the tip. Mr Ali stated that he would match my nose to my facial features and that my new nose would suit my face well.

I asked Mr Ali to shave down my bridge, lift my nose tip and create a sloped effect. He said this would be possible.

I was originally meant to have my surgery at Rowley Hall in Stafford, but this was moved to the West Midlands hospital due to staff shortages. I did not mind this, as it is not too far to travel and I did not want to push back my operation.

When the day of my operation came, I arrived at the hospital and was greeted by my nurse who took me to my room. We did all the usual pre-surgery questions and tests and before I knew it Mr Ali came round to see me to take photos of my nose and again asked me what I was hoping to achieve with my surgery and this really put my mind at ease. It really helped that I got to see Mr Ali before my surgery. I showed him my wish pictures again and he agreed we would be able to get to a similar nose.

I met my anaesthesiologist and he was very knowledgeable, I was then taken down to surgery. Before I knew it, I had woken up for my surgery and I was back in my room. I could not speak due to having such a sore throat and managed to ask the nurse for some ice cream. I was then given a sandwich and some snacks, along with some tea and juice and this made me feel a lot better after my surgery.

My nasal packing was removed the following morning and this was a huge relief, as I could not breathe through my nose at all before this was removed. I then went home after being given pain medication to take home with me.

The rest of the recovery week was relatively uneventful. I slept, ate and relaxed at home for the week until my cast removed. Pain was minimal, but I was very uncomfortable due to not being able to breathe out my nose and my cast itching. I also felt extremely uncomfortable due to my sore throat and having to sleep with my mouth open.

I went for my cast removal one week later and had the cast removed by a nurse. She removed the cast, which did hurt, and also removed my stitches, which also hurt – this was probably the most painful part of the whole experience, but was not too bad. I wish Mr Ali had been at this appointment to tell me how the surgery went and to assess my nose on cast removal, as I had not seen him since before my surgery; I think this would have really eased my fears about swelling. I did however speak to Mr Ali over text with any concerns that I had and he was always very quick to respond.

My nose was extremely swollen for a week, so I did not go anywhere for this week after my cast removal as I looked like I had been stung by a bee on my nose. I am now three weeks post-op and my swelling has dramatically decreased.

Thank you Mr Ali, your kindness and skills are faultless and this operation has changed my life.
