Revision rhinoplasty
Hi there, I posted a long time ago in this website trying to find a dr who would help me with my issue. I did ended up getting another nose job with an amazing doctor from Mexico. I guess that since I was looking for a dr who would perform successful revision rhinoplasties, one of my social media apps suggested me this dr so I went into his profile and I realized that was my dr.
When I just discovered him he wasn’t as famous as he is now but he would always post befores and afters, he posted tons of revision rhinoplasties he did, and a lot of those patients had the same issues I had. He gives a lot of useful information that I was not aware of during my first procedure and I feel I got a bad procedure since I wasn’t well informed about a lot of things.
So I did a FaceTime appointment (that doctor makes long distance appointments for foreigners) we talked about my concerns, what I expected and he told me what he could do and gave me a price for the procedure.
Immediately after the appointment I reserved a date for my surgery but unfortunately due to some family problems I had to cancel my surgery.
Then about 6-8 months later a famous youtuber from the US went with him to get a revision rhinoplasty and that’s when his social media blew up! I saw he was getting an overwhelming demand on his appointments and surgery dates so of course his prices where going to increase, so I managed to save the money back because I had already gotten my price and I assumed that if the prices increased it was going to be just a little extra. As soon as I was completely sure I was ready to get the procedure done, I contacted his secretary and explained that about a year before I had planned the surgery (and I made a non refundable 10% deposit) she had all of my information in the system so I did not have to do another appointment, I just secured the date and they took in account the money I deposited a year earlier!!!!!
Of course the price increased around $500 USD but as soon as I could manage to get my nose fixed I didn’t care. Besides in my opinion he is probably one of THE BEST nose surgeons in my country so I was willing to pay whatever!
Finally the big day came (I was so excited) I was prepared in every single way, I listened to all of the indications and followed them step by step. He gave me a lot of new indications the first surgeon didn’t give me, he made me get extra tests done before the surgery which is a good sign because this doctor takes care of every detail!
The day of the surgery came, everything went nice and smooth, he did use rib cartilage which was the biggest discomfort from my procedure. I had to fly home the day after and then I saw him 2 weeks after to get my cast removal.
He warned me about being very swollen since it was a revision rhinoplasty and the body takes more time to heal so I was mentally prepared to have a really swollen big nose but for my surprise it wasn’t that bad. When I had my first nose job I had a HUGE NOSE for like 2 weeks, I would be crying by myself regretting my decision and it became slightly decent around the eighth month so I got mentally prepared for a similar or worse situation.
But let me tell you, as soon as I got my cast removal I knew it wasn’t going to be anything close to my first surgery, ofc it was swollen but not as bad as the first one. Besides with all of the extra care and medication this doctor gave me, it really helped out with the swelling. The day after my cast removal I only had part of my bridge swollen and around a week or 2 my nose was perfect. Im about to turn 2 years since the revision rhinoplasty now, and it’s still slightly changing but I love it since the day I came out from that hospital. That doctor was an angel for me and he saved my nose!!!

Botched Rhinoplasty?
I had a procedure done 10 months ago with a cosmetic surgeon who had also made a rhinoplasty on a friend and his sister and I really liked his work. My old nose wasn’t bad I really liked my profile I just wanted to have a slimmer nose since it was bulbous and in some angles it looked smaller and I loved how it looked so I thought of getting the surgery. Since I liked the results on my friend I really didn’t do any research or give it second toughts. I explained that I wanted a slimmer nose and since my nostrils seemed big for me I asked for a reduction of them, I showed him a picture of what type of nose I liked and he told me he could do that on me so I was very confident about it, he also suggested a chin implant but since I hadn’t heard about it I just said no and also I just wanted rhinoplasty for my face and that’s it. So the day of the surgery my doctor was not there by the time I got in to the room and since the other doctors where about to sedate me I just unblocked my phone so they could see the pictures of the nose I wanted. When I woke up the doctor went to see me and he asked if y saw it smaller which I couldn’t because I was swollen and with the cast on. One week after I went to get the tape and cast of I definitely didn’t like my results but I didn’t say anything because I knew I was swollen, but it was extremely small and upturned. He told me that day that he couldn’t make it thinner since I didn’t wanted the chin implant, WHAT?! I didn’t knew you had to get a surgery in order to make another one great, so at that moment I got disappointed because I knew that my results wouldn’t be as expected. That week my nose got soooo big I was crying and regretting my decision so I started watching videos with experiences trying to feel relieved and I felt after I saw similar cases and girls getting pretty noses after 3 months. So the days went by and the swelling was going down but I didn’t like taking pictures since my nose was extremely lifted and it just looked botched and over done. At 3 months it looked more natural but still I could see my nose holes, at 7 months it just got better but know at 10 months I still don’t like it. It still looks piggy on far pictures and sometimes pinched, my nostrils were left extremely small and uneven, I have a bump on the bridge of my nose which I didn’t have before surgery and I hate my profile because the nose looks very short, and I really liked my profile before and now I don’t like my profile or my front. My doctor noticed about the bump and he told me he would do a touch up with local anesthesia when I got 1 year post op and I just couldn’t wait for that day to come but for personal reasons I moved to another country and it is almost impossible for me to go back and get it retouched by him. So now I’m looking for a doctor who can make this procedure with local anesthesia or whatever is best for my situation. PLEASE HELP I need someone from he Chicago Area
