Filler to Treat Severe Pinching After Unsuccessful Cartilage Graft

WORTH IT
I’ve had a rhinoplasty and some revisions done in the past. Overall I liked my nose but I was left with a deep indentation on one side that was unsuccessfully treated with a cartilage graft about a year ago. I didn’t mind it in soft lighting, but in bright light the indentation threw a harsh shadow that wasn’t very attractive. I consulted a number of doctors and most told me I should just learn to live with it. A couple said they *might* be able to make it a *bit* better with more surgery, but it would come with the risk of making it substantially worse.
I came into Dr. Pastorek’s office fully expecting him to turn me away as well, and when he did I was fully prepared to live with it.
Well, turns out I came in expecting nothing and got everything. Dr. Pastorek said that I would be a perfect candidate for filler in the area. I was hesitant because I had previously been told that the area was too tight for filler and it would balloon out away from the area being treated. Dr. Pastorek said that he believed the area was flexible enough and that he would fill it in increments, over a couple visits, to prevent that from happening. He then proceeded to show me photos of some of his previous patients who have been treated with filler in the nose. Pure magic. He showed me many different cases of patients whose nose structure couldn’t handle more surgery, whether due to previous surgeries or traumatic injury. Honest to goodness life changing transformations in the span of an office visit. I was so happy for complete strangers I almost forgot what that meant for my case! I then inquired as to the longevity of the filler, because I wasn’t too keen on having a high maintenance nose. He explained to me that because the nose doesn’t move all that much the filler tends to stay put. He then showed me one of the previous patients after ten years, and sure enough there was no significant loss of volume.
I went ahead with the treatment and wow! It’s only been one session (I’ll likely need two) but what I have now is *far better* than what any of the previous doctors had said I could achieve with a “perfect” surgery!
Dr. Pastorek is incredibly caring and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit and procedure. He explains what his plan is beforehand and describes what he is doing as the procedure is occurring. His staff is excellent as well. The nurses are just as caring and informative as he is and his front desk gals are very friendly and accommodating as well.
I recommend him whole heartedly to anyone!
