Hi realselfers,

I began this journey back in August when I posted here a question about multiple surgeries, almost all the doctors that replied asked me to consider weight loss surgery... Something I wasn't really aware of up until that point.
I google some Bariatric surgeons and read their reviews and went to Dr Matthew Fitzer.
Our first meeting was productive and informative and thus began my journey. I was 218lbs at the start of it with Diabetes. Insurance required 3 months supervised loss and then the psychological evaluation . All went well and by Dec 26th I was approved. I scheduled my surgery for Jan 20th 2015. I'm 5'2".
Here are my weight stats:
Day of surgery: 208 lbs
One week post ops- 200 lbs

auburn1, I think 2 days into the surgery it's too early to look at weight loss since our bodies have gone through a lot. My doc said up until a week there is gas, swelling and General discomfor so honestly I weighed myself a week I to it and was down 5lbs. Take it easy in the beginning and just keep sipping and walking! That's our Mantra!!!

Thanks for the reassurance. I know it takes a while for all the surgery trauma to settle down. I have no concerns. I'm staying right on track. : )
