Severe Burns, Lasting Trauma: A Cautionary Account of My Experience with Feras Yamin
I underwent a J-Plasma procedure with Dr. Feras Yamin that has left me with lasting, severe damage. The procedure resulted in third-degree burn-like injuries, extensive scarring, and nerve damage. Both sides of my abdomen were severely affected, requiring a follow-up surgery to remove dead tissue and close open wounds. I’ve been in excruciating pain for four months now and struggle daily with the physical and emotional aftermath.
During the procedure, Dr. Yamin was excessively aggressive in fat grafting, despite our prior agreement to treat a small, specific area. He went far beyond this, applying grafting across my chest without my consent. Shortly afterward, my right implant began leaking. Despite his claims that the issue was due to the implant brand, my previous surgeon (who had recently placed these new implants) provided a written professional opinion disputing this. I ultimately had to replace the implants due to damage from Dr. Yamin’s procedure, costing me thousands of dollars.
Dr. Yamin offered to repair the damage he caused, but I still paid for the surgery room and anesthesiologist—a cost I now believe I should not have had to bear. Even more concerning, Dr. Yamin’s assistant (and girlfriend) Lilia, an esthetician without proper licensing, took a leading role in my post-operative care. She dispensed medical advice and even offered me a controlled painkiller without proper protocol. Her actions were unprofessional and crossed multiple boundaries, and I strongly believe her involvement represents a liability to Dr. Yamin’s practice.
Throughout my treatment, Dr. Yamin discouraged me from consulting any specialists, like a nerve doctor or burn center, instead offering superficial treatments that failed to address the real issues. The weekly visits were largely unproductive and only prolonged my suffering.
Recently, I learned that Dr. Yamin will no longer be operating from his Beverly Hills location, and it has come to my attention that he has faced serious legal issues, including a recent wrongful death lawsuit. This experience has been devastating to my physical and mental well-being, and I regret placing my trust in him and his staff. I am coming forward in the hope that others can avoid the pain and trauma that I have endured.
For anyone considering treatment with Dr. Yamin, please be cautious. My journey has been incredibly painful, and my scars—both physical and emotional—are a constant reminder of this experience.
