Renuvion Elbow.....not Worth It!

Sandy1128
$3,000
I wanted an elbow tuck (that was on Dr Chalekson's list of surgeries he performed) and instead persuaded to have the Renuvion procedure. It has been six months and there is no change in my elbows appearance. I guess it is another situation (my disaster Botched Butt Lift)of who you go to and their skill. First photo 11 8 19. Second photo 8 24 20.

For those of us that have had a bad experience, I would reach out to the manufacturer of the device and the FDA. I have started discussions with Apyx.

Renuvion not worth it for me by this Plastic Surgeon

Sandy1128
Renuvion not worth it. Renuvion treatment same day as 3rd world country Butt Lift.
Feb 2020. Had upper thighs and knees done as well. Due to swelling from the extensive hip surgeries, have not taken final pictures to compare.

I would encourage those that have had a bad outcome to contact the FDA's complaint department for just this type of thing. According to their website, the application for approval of this technique to tighten skin has been withdrawn by the manufacturer of the equipment as there have been too many outcomes in which the patient was not happy with the results. Too bad the doctors did not mention this important fact.

I am definitely going to contact them. Thankyou so much!! I saw no improvement anywhere and paid seval thousand dollars!#

While it is my understanding that doctors can use off-label treatments, under certain conditions, I think the doctors have a duty to tell patients that they are doing just that. For example, if they told us just what the company has published on their own website, I know I would have never gone ahead with the procedure. The manufacturer is Apyx Medical. You can also go to their website and fill out a product inquiry form as well. The FDA requires that they resolve complaints. https://apyxmedical.com/contact-us/

They did get approval for their technology late last year, but not for skin tightening.
"The Renuvion®/J-Plasma® Precise Handpiece is intended to be used with compatible electrosurgical generators for the delivery of helium plasma for cutting, coagulation and ablation of soft tissue during open and laparoscopic surgical procedures. The Renuvion®/J-Plasma® Precise Handpiece is compatible with the Electrosurgical Generators BVX-200H and BVX-200P manufactured by Apyx Medical."

For me, the treatment was extremely painful, expensive, and has made things much worse.

"The use of the terms“skin rejuvenation” in relation to the use of the Renuvion/J-Plasma technology has not been approved or cleared by the FDA. The dermal resurfacing indication for use discussed has not been approved or cleared by the FDA." See the company's own documentation at: https://www.renuvion.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/renuvion-ref_holcomb_schucker_helium-plasma-skin-regen_lsm2019.pdf

I can't thank you enough for this comment. I am going to fill out the FDA website and pursue your recommendations..
9000 dollars LATER and my elbows are worse. Will keep you posted!

Hello, I had renuvion above my knees about 12 days ago. Did you eventually see an improvement in that area after renuvion?
Thank you!
November 11, 2020
I saw no improvement anywhere after spending $9000! Saw a post today that FDA pulled the plug on Renuvion procedure because of so many dissatisfied patients. I am going to research further. After my horrible experience with Dr Chalekson, it wouldn't surprise me if he new already of FDA findings. He purchased a machine for his office and needs to pay for it.

I’m sorry to hear it. Years ago I had a procedure which I spent a lot of money and came out worse than before, so I understand your disappointment and frustration!

Hand rejuvenation with fat transfer

Sandy1128

My experience with this Dr. continues to be catastrophic. At the same time that I had my Butt Lift (see 3rd World Butt lift in USA article) I had fat transfer to my hands. This photo was taken just now ...Dec 2020 (10 months later). He is going to rebuttal with "well she didn't have enough fat" . Okay, then why did you perform the procedure? He didn't hesitate to charge me $3500!

Renuvian worked initially but made my neck and body skin worse in the end. I am shocked that anyone that has had Renuvian skin tightening has not complained. Am I the only one left with looser skin?
August 23, 2025
could you elaborate on that? renuvion tightened your skin in the beginning but became lax again afterwards so it didn't tighten or worked I'm assuming
