I have researched ways to get rid of stubborn belly fat since exercise, diet changes and hormone regulation has not helped me lose the belly I gained due to being hurtled into early menopause as a result of chemotherapy for cancer treatment 4.5 years ago. I will be receiving Coolsculpt on my upper and lower belly tomorrow and am looking forward to it. My measurements today are 30 inches in the upper abs, 29 inch waist and largest part belly and 34 inch lower belly just above hips. I have enjoyed reading other members reviews here - good and bad - and appreciate the warnings and helpful tips. I will continue to update. I am also receiving Restylane lip injections and Brazilian laser hair removal tomorrow so it will be a long day!

Thanks for sharing your update.  I had a hysterectomy a few years ago due to cancer so I can relate to the stubborn areas.  I'm so glad the reviews have helped and I hope you check back in and let us know how you're doing.

I appreciate your comments. I am 42 and have finished chemo and radiation treatments for breast cancer. The chemo also sent me into menopause which has caused weight gain and a pouched belly which I have never had before. Also my thighs have widened as well. I am seriously considering doing the CoolSculpting procedure and will watch your posts regularly to see your end result. Thank you again for sharing.

Thank you mjames and congratulations on your survivorship! I understand now why they don't tell us what post-cancer life might be like - all new health and body issues to deal with! I am happy you and I are both alive! I am 12 days out and feeling just great though my stomach is tender and numb still (and mildly swollen - but not noticeable like it was at the time of my last post). I will make sure to update! {hugs}

Congratulations to you too!!! Yes, cancer certainly does give you a different perspective on life. I am truly grateful that we both survived and are alive and well!!! I agree with you 100% that the drs certainly don't tell you a whole lot on the aftermath of what cancer truly does to your body physically and mentally!! Once again I thank you for your honesty and understanding when it comes to these new body issues post cancer. I wish you a speedy recovery from this procedure. :)))

Day 1 Coolsculpt

My lower abs - both sides- have been completed and I have the suction vacuum firmly attached to my upper right ab now. It takes one hour for each area so this will be a 4 hour session. It is uncomfortable to say the least to have your fat pinched but as others mentioned it isn't unbearable and the area numbs within 5 minutes. 10 minutes in and I am so relaxed it's hard to believe this is happening. The worst part has been when they massage the area after each area is frozen. It burns. They say they must do it for at least two minutes or the frozen fat may not breakdown properly leaving you with uneven areas or divots. I don't want that so I am powering through it. My doc's asst. took some studio quality before photos which I will get my hands on at some point. I will post a pic of my abs immediately after Coolsculpt. So far my skin is red but there is no swelling. I may be in for a rough night though. Spanx are recommended as helping so I plan on sleeping in those. My experience so far is consistent with the majority of posts on this site so I don't have anything new or different to add except don't do this if you are agoraphobic as you are stuck for am hour at a time - though you can stop the process at any time. I recommend taking anti anxiety meds before. I read you may experience nausea but I have not experienced that but eat and drink accordingly and maybe take an anti nausea med or bring one with you just in case.
I am 39, 5'10 and 145 lbs and am hoping for a flat belly for the first time in 4 years!

Day 1 After Coolsculpt

I am not sore yet but my stomach does have that numb feeling and is slightly swollen and red. My doc gave me an RX Lidoderm patch for use starting day 5 (that is an interesting time frame IMO). She said I can swim or get in my jacuzzi immediately and was supportive of the Spanx but does not provide or prescribe those as they aren't mandatory though recent training a she attended mentioned they help many clients with comfort. I am attaching post- Coolsculpt photos as counterpoint to my pics from this morning. You can see that I am visibly swollen although I feel better than I look.

Thanks for sharing the pics.  How is the Lidoderm patch working for you?  Are you in much pain today?

Hi Gina, I am in no pain at all - just that numb feeling and my belly is much more swollen today (day 4 or 3rd day after coolsculpt). my doc said the pain may start 5 days in so I am picking up the patch tonight, just in case! I hiked for two hours last night and felt fine except my yoga pants were uncomfortable in the tummy area. Definitely need to wear baggy waist clothes or low-rise pants and skirts for a bit after this treatment.

I'm glad you're not in any pain today.  High five on the two-hour hike - awesome!  Thanks so much for letting us know how you're doing.  Your updates are truly inspiring.
