12 Days Post Laser Hair Removal

I had laser hair removal of the bikini/Brazilian wax area 12 days ago. I have not had any negative effects and much less hair is growing in already. I am looking forward to session 2 in which I will be sure to take an oral analgesic and use topical numbing cream. It really hurt last time.

I am very hairy! LOL! And usually have a 5 o'clock shadow on my legs, underarms and lady bits by the next day and full coverage within a week easily so it is amazing that so many hairs were already caught in the growth cycle and hopefully destroyed permanently.

I will find out what model laser my MD uses when I return in June for session 2.

I had 4 hours of Coolsculpt, Restylane lip...

I had 4 hours of Coolsculpt, Restylane lip augmentation and my first Brazilian laser hair removal treatment all on the same day! Surprisingly, the latter was the MOST painful. I read that the laser would feel like tiny rubber bands snapping against the skin. No! I don't even know what to compare it to but it is quite painful. My doctor does not numb the area but I may be purchasing EMLA numbing cream and pretreating the area for my second session - wiping it off before the laser is applied. Luckily, it goes by quickly! The laser targets a small area, not just one follicle at a time. I was done in about 10 minutes or less and got the full bikini area and Brazilian hair removal. It's only been a few days so I can't tell if less hair is growing in yet. Nevertheless, I think this is going to greatly reduce or completely stop the growth of hair which would be a miracle because I am, ummm, hirsute in that area! LOL! My doctor did tell me that hair can grow back if hormones are in flux (like if you experience a pregnancy afterwards) or if you are taking testosterone. I am on HRT for peri-menopause which evidently isn't a problem as I am not taking testosterone. I am Caucasian with dark pubic hair so am a good candidate for this. Make sure you shave completely the night before. If you go in with a full "do" the laser will literally burn the hair. I don't think the physician or aesthetician can even go forward unless you are shaved (no waxing! that removes the hair follicle). I am going to let things grow out (though you can resume shaving - again, no waxing though after three days). My 2nd treatment is on June 9th.
