WORTH IT
I had surgery on march 13... 7 days ago now... On day 5 I began to notice black skin and blisters below the belly button and on the incision. I did see my surgeon today and will now be monitored weekly.. I am just hoping it doesn't continue to get worse... Looks bad enough as it is.. I did not know that this could happen. I am still happy I had the surgery as living with a lot of skin after losing 110 pounds was not an option anymore... I am still hoping for the best but I am very scared of the worst.

Oh my goodness, I wish you a speedy recovery! I am aware that this is a risk we must face from this type of surgery, but it's still terrible to face. What is your doctor doing to reverse this?
March 22, 2013
He is monitoring it... Waiting till I heal and hoping maybe some will come back... Which looks like it may be... I am trying to update with today's pictures... Not going so well... Lol

OMG, my ps told me about this, are u on any type of medication ? I use to take prednisone and he said that would be one of the outcomes if I couldn't stop taking it. I'm sorry this happened to u. Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm not on any extra medication.. I finished my antibiotics and no signs of infection.... Thank god... I have no health problems... A non smoker... So not sure why it happened to me...

Poor you, your being so positive in the situation, I wouldn't cope so well. I wish you a speedy recovery.

I didn't tell you about the 2 hours I cried about it... Lol... What good would it do to focus on all the negative... I am trying very very hard to be positive

Oh my gosh I've never heard of this before! How are you feeling? In any pain? I am so sorry.
March 22, 2013
I'm doing better... Pain is better.. Still a long recovery to go... But even though I may be having some complications I will never be sorry having it done... I had skin that hung so low you couldn't see my private area.... So I am really happy...

It has been 14 days since I had my tummy tuck. I still continue to have skin dying. Still waiting to see how bad it will be. I am still happy I did this despite these problems because for me living with all the skin I had was not an option.

How did the dying skin happen, was it something that occurred during surgery or with lipo?
March 29, 2013
I didn't have lipo. Necrosis is a complication that can occur... Not normally in a health person... For what ever reason the area just didn't get the bloodflow. I'm hoping all will be well in the end

What is your ps saying about it ? Whats the resolution. ?
March 29, 2013
I saw my ps on Thursday. Everything looks good except for the area that is dying of course... The plan is to let healing run its course and then the ps will remove the dead skin and make it all pretty... Lol... I hope

Hi... No it's not painfull but only because I'm numb everywhere.... Thankfully... Lol....I just hope it will heal fast so we can do what we need to too fix it up

Good evening Theresa I know you may already know this but from your pics this is NOT normal. You should contact your PS or go to the emergency room. You dont want it to become toooo infected which can be dangerous. You need antibiotics ASAP. GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HEALING
