I thought I had white teeth until I went to the Warriors game with a good friend and saw our picture side by side. Then I realized how yellow my teeth had become over the years. And I'm not a coffee drinker or a smoker. I immediately called my dentist (Dr. Choy in Redwood City) and scheduled an appointment to do their whitening treatment. I had read a lot of reviews on Zoom but my dentist does the KORS system.

First, I had to go in to have the mold on my teeth to make the trays. It would take a week or so to get the fitted tray for my teeth. On Wednesday, April 19 I would start bleaching them every night for two weeks. Two weeks seem easy and short right? It's not. You have to commit for the majority of those two weeks. And sometimes your gums "burn" my gums because the bleach is so strong. You definitely have to do it right before you go to bed. If you're up reading or texting (like I did a couple times), too much saliva will build up and get into the gel of the trays. I was pretty good but missed one night. I even started drinking tea again toward the end, but would rinse and brush right after.

Two weeks, later on Thursday, May 4 I came in for the last in office treatment. They put this mouth opener (that makes you look like "The Joker) and they apply more concentrated whitening gel 3 times for 20 minutes each and take it off. I read many reviews (on Zoom) that patients experienced "zinger pain" but I was one of the lucky ones that didn't experience that. Only sensitivity the last 5 minutes.

Once they were done, my teeth looked so good and "white" again! The maintenance is no tea, coffee or wine for two weeks. But I already drank tea but through a straw. And you leave with more gel which you do once a month with the trays. I would definitely recommend it if you can handle the gel and the in office whitening part. If you have really sensitive teeth and gums, it may be too harsh for you...

Dr. Choy's assistants: Tania and Tonia performed the entire KORS treatment from beginning to end. They were the best! I would highly recommend!
