Been lurking on realself for some time now and have done quite a bit of research on tummy tucks. I am 35 yrs old and in fairly good shape. I weight 123lbs and 5'1". My stomach was pretty flat....standing. I had this annoying extra skin when I sat down or bent over. I have 2 children, one by section and no stretch marks. After many consultations, I chose to go with Dr. Renee Marshall. She understood my vision. She also did my breast augmentation a year prior (awake breast augmentation) and did a fabulous job. So I trusted. Her with my tummy tuck. I was totally awake and only felt pressure. I was given oral sedation and pain mess and was completely comfortable. I am extremely happy with my results. And I am only a few days post op. My incision looks great and my belly button is cute. My pain is minimal , just more uncomfortable now. I love my doctor. She was very honest and up front with me.

Hi You are brave being awake :-0 Is it cheaper that way?

Yes, because you are not paying for a surgery center or anesthesia. But that wasn't why I chose this Dr. I had one consultation that was only 400$ more and they used general anesthesia. It was about skill to me .

You look great! I also had an awake tummy tuck and liposuction and i an doing great! I am almost 1 month post op as I had my procedure on December 12th...☺

May I ask why you decided to do it awake? You look great btw!

I did my breast that way and I felt absolutely nothing. I was awake but dozed in and out during. I'm not a big fan of general and after doing research, I've noticed that this procedure is done way more often than people talk about.

post op day 4

Hello all, I'm still quite sore, mainly in the morning or after a nap. Still walking with a slight hunch so my back hurts. I've been out and about for small errands. Can't keep up with my 4 yr old though. I take ibuprofen daily and will add 1 Percocet at night. I had a shower on post op day 3 and it was pretty tough. The muscle repair is a pain! I was watching a funny video on YouTube and thought it was a good idea to laugh....it wasn't. Oh the excruciating pain! I can roll out of bed on my own now, but still have problems trying to sit up in bed. I uploaded some before and after pictures. I know that many will have their opinions on my need for a tummy tuck. But I'm extremely happy with my decision. My abdomen looks exactly the way I wanted it to , even at 4 days out. So I know that it only gets better. And yes I had breast Aug about 11 months ago. Went from a saggy B cup to a full D.
