10 days out sucking on Oreos!

WORTH IT$11,500
Pretty tired of eating healthy and soft food but thrilled with the results of my surgery. One side is still swollen but other side is loosening up and I don't feel like I have a 1960's swim cap on anymore (if anyone remembers those). Sleep is still a bit difficult on my back so dreaming of sleeping on my side soon. All in all very happy and I couldn't have done it without my friends and family!
I don't know if this would have helped but having a darker color put on my hair right beforehand may have made the color less stripped from that special shampoo? I can't redo color for another month.

Back in the world!

Some stitches out today at post op visit, but the rest have to stay in another week. A little make up seems so nice plus an outing to a coffee shop with my brother (I have been holed up for a week). I was told not to do too much like avoid bending over low and don't lift anything heavy. Regular shampoo and conditioner ok now too!

Your neck and profile look great, you must be so happy!
Yep well worth it! How are you doing?
Aw, thanks for asking, I'm coming right along! The progress after week 3 kinda slows down a bit. I'm a little less sore in my neck and chin and the incisions are looking better, little to no swelling anymore. I'm feeling pretty darned normal these days. :)
Thanks certainly something to look forward to - normal.....
wow, you look in your 30's you son had better watch out, people will think you are his girlfriend ! your swelling seemed to have subsided quite quickly and you look like you are having a smooth recovery
My older son is almost 42 so he will be surprised when he sees me! Thank you!
42! He will look like a cradle snatcher :) look forward to seeing more photos , you must be very pleased you have a lovely outcome
Thank you!

Any pain with stitches removed?

Just wondering if I need the numbing cream for stitches to be removed? It seems like I have a lot of them! How long does it take???

Stitch removal doesn't really hurt, it just feels weird with some tugging. Sometimes there's a little crusty blood around one and they have to work harder on it, and then others just come right out.
You look amazing!
Thank you, did you lose any clumps of hair when they took the stitches out?
Haven't had those kind of stitches out yet, just earlobe repair ones, so not sure. I am a hairstylist and can tell you that a hair follicle has to be really damaged for hair not to grow back. Should be absolutely fine.
Thank you, they gave me iodine shampoo and it's really drying on my fine highlighted hair. I usually use good hair products from my hairdresser. They told me many women were coming in with infected incisions because they didn't wash their hair properly (massaging the shampoo in stitch areas with fingertips and such) I was told I could use my moisturizing cream on ends. Without that I could not even comb it!
Ooh, I'll bet that iodine shampoo sure is drying. Good to know about the washing properly, thank you for sharing!
Good Luck on your surgery!
You don't need numbing cream, it goes really fast. The only ones that stung for me were the ones on the tragus and I've noticed that not all surgeons cut there (some go along the ear line along the cheek) so you may not even have any there. Honestly I was just so looking forward to having them out I didn't care if it hurt! But really it didn't hurt any more than something like pulling a bandaid off. I tried to keep mine moist with antibiotic ointment but follow your own PS's recommendations on that. Congratulations!
Thanks I go in this morning. Mostly excited they told me I could wear eye make up but no face make up to appt. (obviously I am vain, lol). My brother is taking me and I don't want him to say, "WTF did you do to your face", haha
Thanks so much! Met the dr today and liked him a lot. Feeling very positive and most relaxed ever before surgery. You look gorgeous!! Your cheekbones really came out. You must be elated :)
I kept my sutures really clean (the cleanest he's ever seen he said) so I had zero pain.
Thank you, did you clean them with alcohol?
