The implants are way stronger than the glue or the teeth that are being used. The come on is that there just like real teeth. Exception is that the implant is,but the technology for the foundation and teeth has failed for me. In the past 4 months 4 teeth have popped off. A 5th while dr was fixing.implants were the easy part. The denture is the problem

You're absoluty right. I still have my temporaries. The arch on the bottom has cracked right by the back right implant.

Hi, and thanks for sharing your experience!  I'm a little confused--it may just be my ignorance.  Do you have standard titanium implants with crowns, and it's the crowns that are coming off the implants?  Or do you have like an all-on-4 or something more of that style?  Permanent dentures?

I have the all on 4's. Currently the bottom has 4 titanium implants with a row of teeth attached to the implants. These are my temporaries. I believe they refer to the row of teeth as an arch. The arch has cracked right by the back implant.

I have 2 different things going on. Top is a titanium bar serewed to the 6 implants. Then I have a denture with sort of a metal mesh and the denture molded over that. Then the denture snaps down to 6 implants. The Bottom is a titanium bar with denture over it, that is screwed to 4 implants. The top would be easier to deal with. I would just snap off or on. The bottom has to be removed by grinding out the coverING of the screws and pick out the packing over the screws unscrew , remove the whole thing . Then screw in the posts for the back up.This is no fun as the implants are below gum line . That causes the mating of post to implant a challenging job. It pinches tissue and is very tender and sore for about a week. I would get a bolt on bar and a snap on lower like the upper if I to do over.

Started aruond 3 years ago. Lower first. Almost 6 months from beginning to finally being bolted in. Started uppers about 1 year later. AnotheR 4TO5 months healing. That's when problems started. The top and bottoms are very snug. No movement. The teeth are the weak link. They either pop off or break. I actually had 2 different sergeon do the implants. Then The trouble started . We moved so a different dentist is now working with me. The first dentist is now geographicly no longer having to deal with these problems.Good for him bad for me. the lower is called a hybrid. The upper is a titanium bar screwed to 6 implants. The denture then snaps onto the bar.

Thanks!  I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of this.  It's hard enough getting the implants when everything goes right!

What were the crowns made of? Do you have ceramic implants or metal ones?

Do you not have your final zirconia prosthesis yet? My temporary acrylic prostheses all broke but the final zirconia one is more durable. I do wear a custom made night guard to protect my investment that my prosthodontist included in my implant treatment cost.

HouseNinja, what type of implants did you get?  Was it just a few or was it an all-on-4 type of situation?

I have spent another $3,000 to allow the pro. Redo the lower and put in 10 new screws. Was told if I did this it would hopefully stop the chipping of the teeth popping out. The screws changed because they could possibly strip, $800 for 10 screws. Each time this happens I have to go in and have the lower high bred denture removed. This is a major prosess. Drill out the seal over screws ,remove lower dentire . Put in the posts to hold the illfitted snap on back up.Then reverse this whole thing the same day or next. You can eat but it is not real fun.

Did you have the same doctor fix it or a different doctor?

It sounds like you got metal implants and what you refer to as "screws" maybe what dentists call "abutment." Sounds like a bad denture material/fitting. Did you have a computer guided implant placement? You can request ceramic denture, those are much stronger and more bio-compatible, but you got to figure out what the problem is first and it's best to get a second opinion.

Sounds like an expensive mess... It definitely should not work like this, something went wrong there!

The 1 thing I can add to my adventure is that you can not be afraid to ask around and research the dentist that you choose. Like I said the im plant part of my experience went very well. It was,a new dentist that apeared to know what she was doing. All the adds and things said "implant repair. Full dental work. Even a Angie list recommended sign .
I was very disappointed.
