I had my first consultation with Dr. Reath in December 2015 for breast augmentation revision surgery. During my initial consultation, I explained to Dr. Reath that I wanted larger, fuller breasts than what I currently had which were at the time a B cup. Upon my review, I asked to try on the sizers to see which size I would like to be and I was told No. Dr. Reath told me that trying on the sizers was pointless since I already had breast augmentation. He told me that using a silicone implant size of 460 would give me the large full breasts I desired but that he was going to get my records from my previous plastic surgeon first who did my augmentation surgery before making a final decision. I called his office about a week later to verify they received my records and they said yes. I asked to verify the implant size notated in my chart for my upcoming surgery and I was told 400. Much to my surprise without the change of implant size being discussed with me first, I requested another consultation with Dr. Reath. During my second consultation, I explained to Dr. Reath what I was told about my implant size over the phone and told him my goal is to be a full D after surgery. I told him that I would rather be larger than smaller and asked what size he recommend I use to obtain my desired results. I again during this consultation asked if I could try on the sizers and again I was told no. Dr. Reath suggested that I use a 450 implant size, I asked if that size would make me a full D and he said yes. A few months later Dr. Reath performed my surgery and once I had the chance to see the results I was disappointed. I expressed my disappointment to Dr. Reath after my one week consultation. The size of my breasts after surgery were an average C which was not my expressed goal to Dr. Reath. He told me to give it another month to let my silicone implants settlle to see if they settled and met my expectations and I agreed. I returned to Dr. Reath's office after a month and still very unsatisfied with my results. Dr. Reath said that his goal was to make me happy and said we could redo the surgery. That was of course after he gave me another bill for the revision surgery of $3500.00 which I did not feel was right. I expressed my dissatisfaction with his office staff and Dr. Reath who became very inconsiderate of my feelings and showed no compassion. They then negotiated my bill again down to $2300.00. I know this is a large discount from the original price, but I do not feel that I should have to pay for a product or service that was not done right the first time. If Dr. Reath ordered a black Lexus from a car dealership and he was given a red BMW, would he pay the difference for something he did not order?? I have until January 2017 to schedule my appointment and pay the difference. I was told by Dr. Reath that he wasn't sure, after receiving my previous breast augmentation records of almost 20 years ago, what's he was dealing with during my consultations. What was the point in obtaining my previous records than if he couldn't make a sound decision of implant size to meet my purchased expectations? Right is right and wrong a wrong and the way my situation has been handled by Dr. Reath and his office staff is absolutely wrong. I was given implants and a breast size that was preferred by Dr. Reath that was not what I requested or preferred. I work very hard for a living and unlike some people I do not have the extra money to pay for another surgery that was not done right or handled by his office right the first time.
