I decided to get a tummy tuck after having lost 80...

I decided to get a tummy tuck after having lost 80 pounds and having one child. I have been exercising and eating very healthy for three years with absolutly no change in my stomach. I work out a min of 45 minutes to 90 minutes daily and started to realize that nothing was going to get rid on my flabby stomach and lose skin. After the initial consultation I decided that minimal lipo on my hips would be benefitial with the new stomach tightening. The doctor warned that he may not be able to get a flat result due to the excess stretch marks and large amount of lose skin on my tummy.

I was scheduled for May 15 and went in early in the morning and was in and out of the surgery in what seemed like no time. When I awoke I was very sick to my stomach and stayed in the recovery room for nearly two hours before I felt ready to get in the car and go home. My mother stayed with me the first day and I was given Oxicodone and valium for the pain. I only took half a Oxycodone and realized that was a mistake very soon. I then took 1 Oxycodone every 3.5 hours and 1 valium every 8 hours for the next two days.
By the third day I stopped the meds and felt only achiness in my abs.

My doctor called either the first of second day (drug haze) and told me he felt he got a really tight result and that I will have a hard time standing straight for a few weeks. If you want an idea of what things were like the first two weeks you can see what I was able to do the first days following surgery below.

Day 1 Tuesday - Surgery and haze...Walked to the car and to the house walked to and from the bathroom.
Day 2 Wednesday - Sat around with pain killers and walked as often as possible
Day 3 Thursday - Off pain killers - some walking - needed help getting up and down mostly because of the muscles not the incesion.
Day 4 Friday- packed up some items and stayed at my friends house where we watched TV and I ate at the dining table.
Day 5 Saturday - Spent the day out on the porch in the breeze and enjoyed company and a "picnic" with my friend.
Day 6 Sunday - Attended my sister in laws party. Still slightly bent over but not to bad. I sat a lot but most didn't even notice.
Day 7 Monday - First drain was removed.Light shopping and had dinner with my friends parents. Felt emotional and swollen.
Day 8 Tuesday - (one week) Went out to dinner
Day 9 Wednesday - light house cleaning and very very short dog walk
Day 10 Thursday - Returned to work. Removed second (last) drain felt really good about it (during lunch)
Day 11 Friday - back to work...

Looking at the results it really hard to see what they will look like. The horrible belly flap is gone but with the liposwelling it is really hard to see what the results will be like. I think I expected to feel less emotional about the surgery and the results. I was also unaware of the amount of swelling that would occur because of the lipo. I didn't expect the drains to be such a pain.

The office staff and nurses are excellent. Dr. Reedy was great on the initial consult and the PreOp appointment. The only reason I didn't give a 5 for after care follow up and time spent with me is the doctor has yet to see my post op. He only see the patients 3 weeks following the surgery.
