New tummy moments
Hello I've been reading on so many of these stories and it has made feel a little more comfortable doing this but I'm still so nervous at times! I'm doing this because I have loose skin on my tummy and I know I will not be able to get rid off with exercise. I need help on what to do for the recovery, would it really be that painful??

Hello my suggestion is that you have someone stay with you for a few days because you'll need help. Just follow your doctors instructions and you'll be fine. You might have time where you emotion will play with you but what what I did was just focus on my new tummy and how I was going to show it off lol. As for pain my back was sore but I really didn't feel to much pain after day 1 I stop talking the strong stuff and took over the counter mess. This was the best thing I've done for myself. See you soon on the flat side. I'll be here if you have any more questions

Hello! Thank you very much for the information. That's exactly what I'm trying to do just to take over the counter mess not the hard stuff. I'm really scared of those, they even gave me some insomnia pills just in case I can't sleep. I'm really hoping that's I don't have to take any of those. I took Arnica for the swelling when I had my breast augmentation I wonder if I can take arnica after this surgery, have you girls heard of Arnica?

My sister took Arnica after her tummy tuck and swears by it. I'm still in the process of finding my ps but I'm prepping for it and ordered some. I'm also in S. California and live in the IE

Hello, I had my tummy tuck done 2 weeks ago. I've had a great recovery so far and am off of all pain meds. My recovery nurse advised me to take my pain meds all day and thru the night BEFORE I felt any pain such as every 4 hours or so. This helped tremendously. I can honestly say that I had a very good recovery and I am highly sensitive to any pain. I just got my drains out yesterday and thought it would hurt, but it didn't hurt at all. The drains became a nuisance and was very glad to get them out. I'm wearing a compression garment which is okay, but aggravating especially at night. Overall I didn't have much pain, just mostly aggravation with not being able to be as active as normal. , but that will happen eventually. Prior to my surgery I had a lot of sagging skin in my abdomen which resulted from having two children and I also lost a total of 42 pounds. I am 56 years young and just wish I had done this sooner. It is a process and a tough surgery, but am definitely glad I went though with it. I hope this helps.

Hello! That's awesome I'm glad to hear that your recovery was great! I'm really hoping mine is the same way. Ive had a hysterectomy and a breast augmentation so I hope that helps I didn't have to take any of my pain killers so I hope this TT is the same way. I don't like taking Vicodin or any of those pain killers I'm scared. Thank you for your comment this really helps me!

Please tell us the name of the doctor you used and what you thought of him. I live about 15 minutes from you and would like to know how many (and the names) doctors you consulted. Glad you are happy.

Dr. Neuman Goshorn was my plastic surgeon. He is excellent and very experienced. He was my third doctor I consulted with. He is also a fine Christian man who held my hand and said a prayer before surgery. He made me feel so at ease and did a fantastic job. I'm 56 and he is 60 years old. You cannot replace experience. I hope this helps.

Thank you for the info. When I looked up that dr. on this site, the info given was that he is in Memphis. Has he moved, do you know?

Hi painandditching, Im getting mine done with Dr Irene Tower in Rancho Cucamonga.

Hi there. Surprisingly, my TT didn't hurt very much. The incisions themselves never hurt (I thought they would since they look so scary!). The only real pain I had with my TT was day 1 and 2 post-op...and only when getting in and out of bed and using the bathroom. Oh - laughing and coughing hurt then, too. I am now 6 days post op and have no pain at all -- just tightness in my stomach and my back is sore from leaning over. My breast augementation is WAY more painful -- and sounds like you already did that one and were fine. You absolutely MUST have someone stay with you for about 3 nights with TT. You simply can't get out of bed yourself. Also -- I bought a $19.99 toilet seat riser from Amazon. Only used it for 3 days...but worth every penny! Good luck!!!

Hello. Thank you very much! This helps a lot especially on the toilet seat riser. I looked in Amazon but they're unavailable so I'll keep looking else where. Well then my TT should be fine if I was able to deal with the breast augmentation. It a little painful but just because of the massage they had to give me to keep them soft.

Welcome.  The first 2 week post op are the worst but you can handle it.  Stay on top of the pain meds, rest and focus on the end result.  All worth it for the final results.  Glad you are here with us.

Hi Preciousmoments. Some people do better than others in the recovery/pain process. For me, the pain has always been pretty intense (veteran of three TTs, getting ready to do my fourth (and last) one at age 73). But once past the long recovery period you will be so glad you did it! It is so worth it to feel like Yourself again. Wishing you a good recovery.

Hello painanditching. You are amazing to keep going with your TT after having several already. This gives me much encouragement to keep going with improving myself. I'm 56 and just had my TT 2 weeks ago. Let us know how your next TT goes.

Exciting!! Make sure to take before pictures - in lots of different positions. It will help u get through days when u feel like crap. You will never ever see ur body again the way it is now - so document it. Not just nudie selfies - but like looking down at that stomach I hate - the shot with your fat hanging over your pants...etc. I put everything in a plastic hinge-topped shoe box for things I needed right next to me (Chapstick, pencil/paper, meds, comb, etc). The 2 things I found most helpful? A recliner or hospital-type bed and my $19.99 toilet riser I bought on Amazon. Just my experience! Good luck to you! The surgery will go smoothly and before you know it, you'll be on the road to recovery :). Sending you good energy!!
