Hello ladies! Where to begin.. well this is something I have wanted for a very long time like many of the stories I have read on here my breast started to develop when I was still very young I am currently 27 years old 5ft tall and weight 110 pounds and am currently wearing a 30H bra this is actually the smallest they have been for a long while.. I was at a 36J while I was breastfeeding I am hoping to go to a comfortable 32D or full 32C.. my surgery is less then a month away it’s very bittersweet I have waiting and saving for this for a long time but now that it is getting close I am nervous for the surgery and even more for the recovery.. i am mostly worrying about my 3 and 1 year old wanting mommy to pick them up and cuddle with them I will have my sister here to help me for a week maybe two if I need it but my one year old is extremely attached to me.. any tips or advice or what I should expect recovery to be like are appreciated!! the picture of me is in a 32D t shirt bra I hope to fit into real soon!!

So it’s getting real! I am excited anxious and of course nervous my sergery is 15 days away and with the holidays here I know the time is going flying by. So the details of my pre-opp first I had to sign paperwork going over risk medication after care and instructions for beforehand. When I saw my Dr. she asked me about questions and concerns I may have had and I told her I was really hoping to only have a lollipop without and anchor she said after taking measurements that I would need a small anchor I trust she knows best so I am ok with that we talked about desired size and she wants me to bring a goal size bra the day of sergery I am currently a 30H and bought a 32D t shirt bra from Victoria secrets as my goal size. One thing that totally threw me off but in a good way was my restrictions after sergery based on reviews here I was thinking I needed 2 weeks off work (I am a caregiver) and also someone home to help me with my kids who are 1 1/2 & 3. My only restrictions are 2 weeks no exercise, not let my kids hurt/push against my chest and I can go back to work after 3 days. I am happy but surprised by my limitations. Things I plan to do for the next few weeks are fill some of my meds -antibiotics -pain -nausea patch I plan to buy a front sip up bra and I plan to take elderberry syrup (vitamin C), use arnica oil and Shea butter as personal prep care till the day before sergery. I think that’s all for now I plan to update after my sergery. See you on the other side!

It can take up to 6wks for the anesthesia to completely leave your system. I'm an RN and had a total knee replacement, it hurt horribly before surgery..immediately after surgery I did not any narcotic, 800mg in am and pm to help reduce swelling..knee area was actually numb. 5 days after surgery 180 lb St Bernard stepped on back of my shoe, and I fell on the operation area..still didn't hurt..MD said I should be off work (12 hr shifts) for 6 wks, had tons of sick leave but after 3 wks felt fine and went back to work, 4hrs into 12 hr shift knee did not hurt BUT was beyond tired, after thought I would go to sleep standing up! afher 12 hrs had NEVER been so tired. That was the anesthesia. Your surgeon has very different restriction that most with breast reduction surgery. My nurse friend had a reduction 3 yrs ago, no lifting x no of days, start with lifting small amts of wt for x days, no lifting arms over head,,x no of
days, No driving x no of days, friend was not allowed to return to work for 6wks due to havihg to reposition patients, possibility of need to grab patient prevent falls, pushing wheel chairs, transferring patients (chair to bed etc) Returning to job in 3 wks would depend on specifics of job...But the anesthesia for any surgery that last in the hours should be a consideration, Be sure your surgeon fully understands what your job actually involves. My l,knee surgery was about 2 hrs bed-rest 24hrs, then no restrictions as to movements, . No driving if taking narcotics . ..excuse typing I'm have ah arthritis flareup and hard t9 type Good luck !

So were to begin.. the sergery center was a hour away and I checked in at 6am filled out some paperwork and took a pregnancy test and put on my cap and gown I kept my socks and underwear on then I got in a bed and they did vitals and Dr came in and drew me up and we talked about desired size she also had me bring a bra in I brought a 32D t shirt bra after that I talked with the anasticiologyst and boom they wheeled me in the OR and I was out and woke up in recovery and it took me a small moment to realize where I was and what just happened my right breast was stinging and it hurt to move my arm at all while the left was just about pain less they took out 214g from the left and 285g from the right I was surprised it was so little.. Dr said I had very dence breast so not much fat in there.. and I have lost a lot of weight in the last year so I gess they had been getting smaller 2 years ago I was wearing a 36J nursing and before sergery I was in a 30H on my way home I got some edibles to try and avoid the Percocet and muscle relaxer so far I am good not in much pain at all and I am 10 hours out right now and I am feeling more like myself every hour they gave me Motrin in my iv before I left and when I got home I had some of the edible (medicinal marijuana) another thing I have is a patch behind my ear that I put on a 4am I for got to put it on before bed and that is for nausea which has been good I can eat just fine.. at this point I am so happy I went through with this I was very nervous before surgery and now I can feel How light my chest is and breath better if that makes any sense!
