I am a month post op now, and things continue to be uneventful (which, of course, has led to me creating an event out of even the smallest thing ????).
I saw the doctor again this week, and all was well. There had been minor concern about my belly button separating at our last visit, but yesterday everything was good!! I was SO concerned about how my belly button looked the first two weeks, but now it looks great and I’m in love with it. In fact, it looks so much better then I expected I’m going to have to reconsider piercing it when all the healing is done!!!
I’ll go back to the doctor in another two weeks, not for anything in particular, my doctor just wants to see all patients this frequently. I can’t wait to see where I am at that point considering how much improvement happened from last visit till now.
I also have lost 17 POUNDS of swelling! I went from 197 to 180, and that’s where I have been sitting and like mildly swinging along (180-182). I knew I gained weight cuz i have been eating and not exercising, but 5 pounds isn’t sooooo bad.
So the event I’m creating for myself, lol, is that I had a scab develop at the intersection of incisions on my right breast. It’s been slowly softening and loosening, and today in the shower finally fell off. Now it looks like it’s a little bit open, and it scares the [RS bleep] out of me, and I’m scared I’m going to have wound dehiscence, but my doctor assures me it’s fine. I’m going to keep gauze there and hope for the best, but [RS bleep] if it isn’t scary wearing a bra right now!!!

3 weeks post op
Tomorrow morning I am officially 3 weeks post op! Things are getting easier and better every single day. I am very happy to have done this operation, and absolutely love and trust the doctor that I went through with. Dr. Capella has proven himself time and time again to be incomparably knowledgeable and wonderfully comforting, and I couldn’t more highly recommend him to any future patient.
The swelling goes down a liiiiiiittle more every day. Today I was 189. Unfortunately, I have been eating like a FIEND since surgery, so I have probably gained some weight. In a perfect world, I should be going down to 178, but this is most likely not going to be achieved until I’m back at the gym and working for it. Ain’t that always the way?
Tomorrow as well as later this week I have important places to be, and I’m a bit nervous about not presenting well. I’m still unable to wear most of my clothes (particularly my nice ones) and am still hunched when I walk. It looks like I have a hump at this point ???? Oh well, all part of the process.
My incisions are continuing to heal well. I was concerned I was having a separation at one of my underboob incisions but really it was actually just flattening and receding into my skin. Yay!
Can’t wait to continue to see my progress and eventually enjoy the spoils of my new body ????????????

2 weeks post op
Today I am 15 days post op. The first week of recovery passed quickly, and in a daze (thank you, Percocet). The second week was a little harder, just because there were more and more little post op complications I was scared I was developing.
I went into surgery at 189 pounds. I had 12 pounds removed. When leaving the hospital, I weighed 191. A few days after getting home, I was 185. And then suddenly, I was up to 197. ????
I was scared that such immense swelling, followed by low grade fevers, meant I had developed blood clots. I reached out to my doctor and had an ultrasound done on both legs, and it was negative. This is all just part of the healing process!
I saw Dr. Capella and he told me I was doing well. He removed my last two drains, and I came home and slept like a baby... but the last two nights I have had EXTREME night sweats, which caused me to lose the first 5 pounds of fluid weight, and now I’m down to 192. Hope I keep seeing the scale go down!
I go back to Dr. Capella in 2 weeks. Until then, I am focused on doing as much as I can at home, and enjoying my down time while I still can!

Wow hun. You look great!!! You had so much done all at once. I can’t believe you are getting around so well. Glad you got those drains out and you’re well on your way to healing. The swelling can take awhile to go away but it will eventually. Hang in there!!!
Thank you so much! I can’t thank Dr. Capella enough for such a wonderful job. And I’ll tell you, the amount I had done can really kick you down, it’s emotionally trying just as much as it is physically, but I’m just the kind of person that CANNOT stay still. The tricky part is finding the sweet spot between doing nothing and doing too much.
