Those are very faint! You look great! Do you have feeling in your stomach? I remember for a long time it was numb and tingly or worse, it would itch but I would scratch it and feel nothing! Ugh. I'm not looking forward to the first week after surgery. Any other good pieces of advice!
thank u! i still feel numbness yes. i had the same with my c section too. not sure when that will go away. i dont have any itching though. the first week isn't fun but u will be uncomfortable with the drains. if i can offer any advice, plan on sleeping on the couch bc u will need to be propped up. so i had a pillow for my head and one to put under my legs. u will need lots of large gauze pads to protect ur scar under ur underwear. buy some comfortable brief underwear, large ones. also u will need something to secure ur drains to while showering. i used an ace bandage and wrapped it around my waist. also have large pajama or sweat pants to put over ur scar. u dont want to wear anything tight. and i kept all my necessities downstairs by the couch so i didn't have to keep walking upstairs for things. are u going to have some help?
UGH I'm terrified now! I got one of those wedge pillow things for my bed. Wish I had one of those adjustable beds! Good advice on the large underwear. What kind of large gauze pads? Like to put over the scar, oh right, to protect it under clothes. I'm getting a thigh lift too so will have scars on part of my inner thighs, not to my knee though I don't think, and in my groin area. That won't be fun at ALL!!! Just paid it all in full today!
Congrats!!! Don't be terrified..
The discomfort is totally manageable! I watched every episode of homeland on demand and had friends visit to break up the day. U will be just fine !!! When is the surgery?
Hello, I am very interested in your opinion, I am also a fitness instructor, as you might know i have only two weeks off from work before I run the risk of losing my classes. How long after did you go back to your classes? How long did it take you to be able to fully do your classes like before? I hope you are still checking up on this site and read my message!

I decided to have this procedure 10 years after...

I decided to have this procedure 10 years after the birth of my twins. As a result of my pregnancy, I was left with rectus diastasis, unsightly stretch marks, an umbilical hernia and complete deflation of my breasts. As a fitness trainer, I was so miserable and uncomfortable in my own skin, I felt very self conscious because of my protruding abdomen. I actually appeared to be pregnant when I was bloated and spent countless hours trying to find tops that would hide this problem. I could not wear a bikini, even after all my hard work and training, eating properly and living a healthy lifestyle. For me, it had to be done. In my line of work and for my own self esteem and feeling great in my own skin, I felt I needed to do this. I waited until my kids were a little older and I had my mom come to stay with me for almost 3 weeks. She took care of me and the kids and helped me get around the first few days. The pain was manageable. Just mostly uncomfortable. The drains were the most annoying part. But thank God, I had an amazing doctor. I had a great recovery. I was back at work in 3 weeks. I did not exercise but I was able to teach. My scar healed beautifully. And I have no regrets. It was the hardest, but best thing I have ever done for myself. I wish I did this sooner. My advice to anyone out there considering this, is to choose a doctor you feel comfortable with and that has an amazing reputation. Make sure you have someone that can stay with you around the clock for at least 2 weeks. And lastly, if you want to do it, just go for it. You will be so much happier. I am happy to give anyone any feedback they may want. Feel free to message me thanks

Thanks for sharing your story - and your incredible results - with us. It sounds like you planned everything very well, including getting around the clock help during your recovery time. Your advice is really appreciated by this community!

I have an appointment with Dr. Capella on Oct. 13 to repair a totally botched tummy tuck and to have a medial thigh lift. I'm SO terrified, especially because I've been through one TT and it was so painful. I had the same condition as you, the rectus diastasis. You look fantastic. Would love to hear more about your experience with Dr. Capella. I'm actually going this Friday just go talk with him about some of my concerns. I live in Fairfield, CT, so it's a bit of a trip... Did you stay in the hospital overnight? Anyway glad yours turned out so well! Amy
hi amy. i did stay in the rehab nearby the hospital. they were wonderful. my mom and dad stayed over with me. i had the room to myself by chance. i chose to stay 2 nights bc i lived about an hour away and just felt more comfortable not having to leave the next day. i was glad i stayed and it was worth the extra $300, Dr.Capella required a 1 night stay after the surgery. i was on percocet for 4 days and then tylenol for 1 and then off meds completely after that. and i was recovering from 3 surgeries at once. i tried to walk around every hour for a few minutes. you cant lay in bed too long. my mom was a big help. i did not have to do any thing for the kids or the house for 2 weeks so i was able to totally concentrate on myself for the first time in 10 years. with the right pain meds you will be totally fine. the most painful part for me was laughing or sneezing ...seriously. you are in excellent hands with Dr. Capella. I would do it again in a heartbeat. and just think of the after effect. you are going to love how u look and feel again. its really priceless.
if you have more questions, feel free to ask away
How are your scars? I had a terrible tummy tuck that left me with awful results! I might consider staying an extra night too. Did you get muscle relaxers or anything? I just remember the tt being SO painful! I'm also afraid of the inner thigh lift but mainly because of the scars but I will be glad to have it done. How are your scars at this point? I can't believe how many good reviews I've read about Dr. Capella. The doctor who botched my surgery was in Darien, Ct., and very well credentialed. But I think his main area of practice was faces and this time I wanted to go to someone who specialized in body work :). I feel confident I chose the right doctor!
my scars are really nothing now. in the beginning they had a ropey look to it. now its a very thin line. i can upload some pics. i will do that tomorrow. i would definitely stay the extra night if you can. its just easier. i took percocet every four to five hours. that was all. no muscle relaxers. i definitely was uncomfortable but more because i hated those drains. but i wasn't in too much pain. it was definitely bearable. i can assure u without any question that u have chosen an awesome doctor. he has a great reputation and the hospital is excellent as well. plus u have real people telling u their results , so that is the best info right there. i went for 5 consultations with 4 doctors before i decided upon Dr. Capella for my surgery!
That would be great if you could upload some pictures. Are you having anything else done? I went a few months ago and he suggested I lost 10 pounds which I have. I'm not in terrible shape, actually was doing a lot of running, ran the NY Half Marathon in 2014 but kind of fell off the running bandwagon. I just hate my fat inner thighs and NO exercise, no weight loss helps. And I'm getting the tt straightened out, it's so bad. And I think they didn't do the internal part right either so he's going to go back in and do more internal muscle stitching work. That's what scares me! I can't remember what the recovery time was when I had my last one done as it was in 2008. My kids were little then. I do remember I did NOT follow the instructions re aftercare and was up and about far too soon. I remember going to a Board of Ed meeting with my drains still in!! But now going to rest and behave!
I added more pics
I had a lower body lift, arm lift and breast lift by Dr.Cappella in Jan 2014. I had wls in 2007 and had embarrassing excess skin. Dr Capella and Scott were amazing and could not be more happy with my results. Wish I had done it sooner too.
