Fat Garfting to my Face to Restore the Volume - Raleigh, NC

WORTH IT$2,400
I had fat grafting surgery in 2014 with Dr. Michael Law and I was very happy with the result, so I decided to get a second fat grafting surgery in August 2016.
My face is very thin and has a low volume of fat, which caused me to look tired and old. Many people asked me if I was sick. I researched facial fillers and found about the fat grafting technique from a Korean website. Fat grafting is permanent and lasts longer than filler and it has been popular for facial rejuvenation in Asia for many years. I did research to find the best doctor who is performing fat grafting in USA. I am lucky that I live in North Carolina since Dr. Law's office is in Raleigh, NC.
I saw tons of the before and after pictures of fat grafting at Dr. Law's official website. Those pictures gave me the confidence to decided on fat grafting with Dr. Law.
The staff of the surgery center were very nice and they made me feel comfortable.
Dr. Law put fat into my forehead, eyebrow area, temple, upper eyelid area, cheeks and nasolabial folds.
The surgery was a success and now I look more healthy and youthful. . . and nobody has noticed I had a cosmetic procedure because it looks VERY natural.
The lines on my forehead have been reduced and my sunken upper eyelid area has restored volume. I look much younger than my age. (I'm over 40 years old now ).
Thanks to Dr. Law who is very kind and conscientious. I think his fat grafting skill is the TOP among surgeons and I would love to come back to his office again.
There are many doctors who do fat grafting or fat transfer but I think it is important to meet with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who has many years of experience.
I highly recommend Dr. Michael Law for your natural, youthful face.

Do you have any before and after pics you can share? The only photo I see is of his office in your review.

Also $2400 for fat transfer is a great price but from reading other peoples reviews on him he charges $7500 for fat transfer typically. Are you sure that is the correct price for all of those areas?

Yes it is correct price Because it is a second one for discount... The staffs are very friendly so you can ask any question.

Right, but the pics on the website are of his best work. They don't show his failures or a timeline of the transfer. There's a user on here named "d to the j" he has multiple photos of his fat transfer across a over the year timeline. If you could do that as well it would be extremely helpful. Seeing docs photos isn't enough for people anymore. They want to see a timeline of photos to see how much fat is retained, how much is absorbed, if problems occur in the future, etc... If you could do that you'll definitely sell me on this doc.

Also the photos on his site don't say when the post-op photos were taken. To get a true idea of retention with fat transfer it's best to wait a year. The whole 3-6 month thing isn't a very good indicator. If Dr. Law posted the post-op photo dates on his site that too would be helpful. Lots of times photos are taken about 2-3 weeks out from the initial transfer which is not helpful at all as at the time swelling still remains.

Hi lucky2841! I'm afraid we generally discourage posting external links in comments. It would be super helpful to see your photos, though, if you're comfortable with it. :)

Can you post before and after pictures?

Hi, not sure if the dates are on the website--but I do know that they have a book in the waiting room that lists the time frames. Not sure how far out they go, but for example-I was comfortable with having a really edited/cropped picture of my results in the table top book but not on the website. And I'll confess, I'm so happy that I didn't go back in for the year post pics.

I will say this though, for a procedure like fat grafting--if you feel hesitation, I'd hold off. I researched alot, thought about it, researched more, thought more before I finally had it done. And then the day I had it done, I just had no worries. I did need a touch up, but that was explained to me before we went for the first procedure. I have a super thin face and I was very happy to go back a second time to add more rather than the over-fill approach (which Dr. Law just does not over fill). Anyway, I hope you find the procedure that works for you. But I'd say reading your comments, you are worried about the potential of having to repeat (which is surgery and down-time-so doesn't work into everyone's schedule)--if you are local I'd go in and see if there are any other options outside of facial fat grafting. But best of luck, it is scary to age and scary to fight aging.

I had fat transfers 4 years ago, they lasted 18 months.

Anon, how much did you pay for your fat transfer? Fat transfer is typically not affective for people 50 or over as the quality of fat is not the same as it is when you're younger and as a result retention tends to be less.

What is fat Garfting?

I am sorry for late, but I updated before and after photos. It passed 5 months after surgery, but it still remains volumes. My upper eyes still has volume also. My upper eyes used to be shrunk and saggy, but now my eyes look younger with proper volume with fat. I didn't want temporary filler like
hyaluronic acid because it will be absorbed quickly within 3-6 months, but fat remains longer or permanently.

Tomorrow morning I am having fat transfer done! My eyes are one of the areas that he will be restoring fat to, and your picture here really gives me the best idea I have seen so far, of how nice that can look. I am happy your are enjoying your ressults!

Did you have a full face fat transfer? Or just parts of your face? And how is the fat holding up today? Any issues?
