I am not a big fan of topic treatments (Botox or fillers) - but I do know that if you want permanent, long lasting change, going under the knife is the only way to go. With that said, I am not a big fan of pain, and what if I don't look like myself after the procedure? So, I put it off for a long time. Half the battle is finding the right person for the job, so I waited until I had the time to do my research. I actually came to this website first and read hours and hours of reviews and pictures. I simply wanted more definition in my short, squat neck. I could see my jowl area starting to "drag" and that was a little depressing :(
I am 47 (46 when I had this done last year), so I knew I would be doing more than neck/chin lipo.
The difference now is so subtle, which is Exactly what I wanted.. I look like I did in my 30's - and it's mostly in the jowls. Regarding the pain.. I have to admit, I looked like Frankenstein for a while (luckily my hair covered it), but there was NO pain, ZERO, NADA. I've had dental appointments that caused more pain than this procedure. Dr. Law explained why his technique is pain free but to be honest, I thought he was exaggerating. He Wasn't! It is awkward to sleep upright for about a week, but there was no pain. There was pressure and tenderness - but the worst part of it in terms of pain was getting the stitches out (but that was quick). The thing that took me by surprise was the effect of the anesthesia - (and I was warned about this in my pre-consult). I had very bad dreams and I felt depressed for about ten days after surgery. And then, just like that, it was gone (but still weird because I never get depressed). I do want to say that it does take about six months to nine month before you get the final look. For the first month, your skin is bruised, swollen, a bit odd looking, and you just have to trust that it will all work out (and it did!). I am so happy with the results, and I definitely recommend it.
