Update after 12 weeks of Taxol and 2 AC treatments.
WORTH IT$900
I still have hair and minimal shedding. If you have any questions, get in touch. I am a huge fan of the cold caps. I even was able to do them by myself beginning at 3 weeks after my mastectomy when I started on AC.

My motivation was to see if cold caps work and to be in control of something- keeping my hair during a time where I'm going to feel sick, months and months of chemo, surgery, losing a part of my body, having radiation, and possibly going in to early menopause. My motivation was not to have people looking at me feeling sorry for me, asking me what's wrong with me and to Have the choice to deal with this cancer privately, on my own terms.

Thank you for your comments. I'll definitely update my experience as I get further along. I'm on weekly taxol for 9 weeks now and things are going well.

I used chemo cold caps. I have very long hair and could not bear the thought of waiting years for it to grow long again. I finished chemo at the end of march. I shed a lot of hair after my third treatment but I kept enough that I do not have to wear a wig and other people say they cannot tell I lost any hair. Totally worth doing. I can look in the mirror and feel normal.
