My life’s work has been focused on improving...

My life’s work has been focused on improving fitness (inside and out) for women and children everywhere I go. As a group fitness instructor, community leader, marketer and busy mother of four, I interact with hundreds of people. I help them get on a path to living a healthy way of life physically, emotionally, and mentally. My body had been through a lot, and I had emerged stronger (though arguably flatter chested). I went looking for help from Davis Plastic Surgery to help take me where thousands of pushups and burpees could not.

I nearly died from a sudden illness in 2006. I dodged a bullet, and though I did not suffer permanent brain damage, blindness or paralysis, I lost 25% of my body weight in a very short period of time. The disease left its mark on my face and upper body in lost fat/tissue that I have never regained. I have been pregnant 11 times, yielding four wonderful children who have changed my life. I breastfed them each for a year, and though breastfeeding is not supposed to wreak havoc on one’s appearance, the fluctuations in weight and tissue seemed to only add to the malaise.

My initial contact with Davis Plastic Surgery let me to Gretta, the most warm, professional and adept Patient Care Manager I have ever encountered. She instantly made me feel at ease via email and in person. I had done my homework and knew all of Dr. Davis's stats, but Gretta really sealed the deal. I went in for my initial consult, and felt great about the practice and technology and knew that I would be in great hands with Dr. Davis. But when I sat down to discuss scheduling details with Gretta, I had a tearful moment of clarity. I had not been 'whole.' My desire for an augmentation was not about vanity or improved body proportions. I had lived in shame of a part of my body that was out of my control, and that negative space took over too much of my life.

I scheduled surgery in the soonest possible slot. Having the procedure out of the hospital made it immensely more comfortable. Dr. Davis uses a facility in his same office building and there is no extra waiting (like in a hospital), it is is immaculately clean and private. And to top it off, the anesthesiologist was a great doctor who had treated me when I was in labor with my 4th baby. The surgery went great and the recovery was much easier than I had expected. In fact, within a days I was up and about and able to rock an interview.

So much has changed about my life since my surgery. I love the outcome and am really happy with the guidance I received from Dr. Davis and his staff (size, placement, shape, etc). But more than the way I look is the way I FEEL. I am more confident, more willing to go out on a limb, more focused on other things (rather than hiding/padding my chest), more positive and positively transformed. My career is in a totally different place because I am a different person. I am thrilled to have met the Davis team...every single one of them is so helpful and pivotal in changing people's lives.
