I decided that a lift and implant was right for me...
WORTH IT$10,000
I decided that a lift and implant was right for me because I was looking for the fullness in my breasts that I no longer had, I am 36 years old.
I just had my augmentation procedure (lift, implant and axillary lipo) yesterday and I feel great.

Initial photo is pre implant 5/2011 after is 3/2015 (it took a long time for my scars to go away.). Dr Law is fantastic with being willing to continue to 'treat' scars until they are gone- even if it is almost 4 years!
UPDATED FROM Happy Katlyn
silicone toxins? Did you heal after explant?
My PS, Dr Law was fantastic he says he values the aesthetics and he truly does. He has gone above and beyond to make me & my scars look great. He continued to 'treat' my scars until they were gone- even though it took almost 4 years! The sad news is that on the heels of my final scars healing I believe that the implants have been causing major illness and now I am fortunate to be explanting them in 4 days... Would love to hear if you felt better after- symptoms improve or go away?
I have been very ill for a couple years (Fybro like symptoms, extreme cold sensations, neuropathy, pain, muscle recovery, nerve issues and more). It has all but taken away any 'normalcy' to my life. Months after my implant I developed food sensitivities to gluten/wheat, dairy, and many processed foods and that was just the beginning. I never thought that my implants could be the cause of all of this but then I had this life changing moment. I had a mammo last Friday and discovered that one of my Allergan silicone implants(under muscle) had ruptured. The physician who was doing the ultrasound said that there was so much silicone that he had a hard time 'catching a view of the side of the implant'. I was devastated, I immediately made a connection of this finding to my illness. I got home and then promptly started researching silicone toxicity - I WAS FLOORED AT WHAT I FOUND! Now It all makes sense to me & seems like common sense... I have been flooding my body with toxic waste that my body systems have reacted to. I know that this does not happen to everyone and I believe everyone shall make their own decisions, but my body is and has always been sensitive to a lot of things. I have the guilt that I should have known not to do this 4 years ago, but I also believe that everything happens for a reason and this is just a part of my journey. Maybe this experience will help my daughter not to do the same. I found a surgeon who I believe is one of the best in enblac explants. I had my consult today and despite Dr. Kolb's eccentric nature I feel like I am in the best hands. I can't afford the mastopexy (she said would be good to do with the excess skin I will have)with the explant running about 9k(initial implant & mastopexy was 10k) I am just broke, but I pray I will have better health- Would love to hear your success or not so success story as far as illness and explant recovery. Thanks- This forum is such a supportive place.

Good luck to you! I hope it all goes well and I will be following your story. My explant is scheduled for November.

Thanks! I had my explant yesterday and I feel pretty good- didn't take any of the narcotics after, just opted for Tylenol (and my doc had a pain pulse thing on me too-taken that off already). I'd say it feels just real sore- like lots and lots of pushups! I think after the surgery for me I was nauseous for a couple hours and then later I got a headache which was the worst part, but again Tylenol made it manageable. I'm thinking my body was just reacting to the surgery meds/anesthesia. Sleep wasn't the best, am hopeful tonight will be better. I can see how people get excited about getting the drains out because I'm already over them lol something about blood/puss sacks pinned to a synching bra is too much for me! Are you explanting for health reasons?

Hi! Congrats on the surgery!
I have had implants for almost 15 years, silicone, textured, 300cc's. I have also had migraines for almost 15 years. I never made the connection because at first they seemed to be tied to my menstrual cycle. Now I have chronic migraines, tingling sensation in my hands, feet, and mouth (I know - mouth - kind of weird). I have had heart palpitations for many years, food allergies. I basically have cut out all dairy, sugar, grains and alcohol to try and see if that would help my migraines. It didn't. Is it the implants, or menopause or something else - I really don't know, but since my implants are 15 years old, it's time to take them out and replace or not. I choose not. I hope my health improves but I am not going to count on it. I should be healthy. I eat right, I exercise, and I am thin. I am happily married, kids are doing well in college, not a lot of stress in my life. So go figure. I was also in the implant study and had MRI's every other year for 10 years. Let me tell you, in my opinion, those studies are meaningless. I could go on about it, but it would take a lot of room. If I decide to post my own story, I will add it there.
Thank you for your post. The drains do not sound fun at all. Good-luck with your recovery. I hope you are able to sleep better tonight and that at least this part of your journey is behind you.

Yes, I am glad to be at this point of my journey and am looking forward to gear removal :) I agree that we can not 'count' on our health improving, but when you think about removing toxic stuff from your body... that HAS to be good and I, like many, are hopeful for some improvement, not expecting miracles & not afraid to work for the results either! Strength your way for your explant procedure :)

and are you from the same Doctor? This saddens me --I wish you both well and a speedy recovery.

I knew immediately my implants were making me sick and had them out after long struggles with my gp insisting it was these and basically being told it was all in my head. I felt better after about 6 weeks post explant. Mist symptoms subsided but took about 4 years for all to subsidea to the point where life was Normal again. Ish!
PIP was not not in the news at that point so any previous concupiscence decisions about what was making me I'll was not borne out of any bad publicity. It turns out I did have the PIP but only after 4 years post explant did I learn this when it hit the news. I think that the PIP were such poor quality they were gel bleeding heavily from the start and this is where my poisoning came from. Yours will be from the rupture and the inner substance. Regardless of brand there is silicone and other chemicals that are dangerous. You are right to take these out if you are experiencing issues. I hope all goes well for you. I would never have them again. Regardless which brand..

That is terrible! May I ask, was this a gummy bear implant?
April 15, 2016
Yes, it was a cohesive gel. Gummy Bear is a brand- but they are all a gel that is not supposed to leak if something happens to the shell. If you view my other photos you will see that after it leaked and mixed with my bodily fluids it became like a rubber cement liquid. It was horrifying seeing it after pathology returned it.

You are an absolute angel, Katlyn! -First of all, I am only researching having this done, but always have/had reservations. You have totally educated me, upon seeing the ruptured implant...it almost looked melted (i.e. through one's body heat) and it just makes sense now. Just think of how many women you are helping by showing them this information, me being one of them that is happy I asked (which type of implant), as we're told how safe cohesive gel is and there are even demonstrations of physicians cutting them in two. This obviously does not show how a ruptured implant acts while touching one's body heat and blood. A million times over, thank you! ps...You are healing beautifully, your breasts and scars look amazing & I can see why you are so happy! :)) Please update us as to how well you are becoming as you continue to heal from the explant! God Bless!

My breasts decreased an entire size over the 8 years I had gummy implants, from gel bleed (not rupture -- bleed). It eventually gave me BIA-ALCL and a slew of BII symptoms. Surgeons lie to protect their industry. I would never get silicone implants again. 6 years later, I'm considering getting IDEAL implants.
Thanks so much for sharing your story on RealSelf! I'm glad your experience has been a positive one.
