Day 4 post op hell.
Did anyone else have a bad day 4? Up until day 4 it hadn't been too horrible pain wise but I did too much. I had to go back on pain killers at 1 am which in turn caused me to get nauseated so then I had to take zofran again. My stomach feels like someone is sitting on me, lots of pressure right in the middle of the drainsite/middle of scar. I didn't drain well last night so I'm wondering if I'm filled with fluid. Getting ready to try to strip the tubing and see if it starts following again. I'm hoping today is better and I am not going to do as much as yesterday.
I feel like a new woman! (Almost)
So I slept last night for 6 hours straight with just motrin, no more pain meds. They were making me sick and wired instead of sleepy. The pain is definitely bearable. My husband washed my hair and I sat in a chair to blow dry. I also was able to walk to the end of the driveway and back with my back a bit straighter. The recovery is more than I thought it would be but so worth it. I'm going to post a before picture of the extra skin and today's sneak peek when I took the binder off for a minute.
Drains, drains and more drains.
I felt like I had a fever/flu symptoms and my pain medicine was making it so I couldn't sleep. Dr. Gunn had me come in and all looks great. She gave me a new script for Tramadol to help tonight. My drains are doing what they are supposed to but they are super annoying. I would do anything to shower right now! I was home alone for about two hours today for the first time since surgery and the only obstacle I really had was moving about in the kitchen. This has definitely been harder than I thought it would be but I still think it was the best decision.
Provider Review
Dr. Gunn will be performing my surgery. She is warm and welcoming! Her entire staff answers all of my questions and makes me feel apart of the "family".
