I'm 5"3, around 53 kg and wear a 12C/D cup ( I haven't been sized properly in years) and I usually stick to wearing bralettes or sport bras without wiring or padding. I am mostly worried about the size of my areola rather than the shape, size or lift of my breasts. I just can't feel comfortable with my breasts unless they're cold or I'm aroused. My nipples go puffy and make areola look huge. I really don't want my areola to get larger if I have kids. I am worried that if I have a reduction that the scarring will be very visible as I have very pale nipples.

Hi Chloe,
I stumbled upon this page because I was searching about why does only one nipple get hard sometimes? (Haha) Your post came up and I felt compelled to create an account to reply. Firstly you have gorgeous breasts! I wouldn't touch a scapel with them. I'm the same age as you and have much larger areolas. Growing up I thought surgery was the way to go too and had the same fears like not wanting them to get bigger with pregnancy, how boys would react and if I got surgery: scarring and loss of sensitivity. I found a website called ourbreasts.org that allows women all over the world to submit photos of their breasts; to show pride in their pair and also insecurities. I realised I didn't have to get surgery to conform to society's expectations because my [RS bleep] were already fantastic. There are plenty of women who have these feelings of insecurity but there are also as much women with similiar, awesome boobs!
Anyway, sorry to be preachy. Your post just touched me because I remember feeling the same way years ago.
Hey there,
Haha a question I wonder myself!
Thank you for creating an account and commenting. I am glad that there are others who can relate. It's easy to feel alone when its such a sensitive topic.. this is not something I would express to my friends from fear of judgement. I have for years fanaticised about having smaller areola.. most of this insecurity has come from an ex boyfriend and his friends openly criticising areola on women on [RS bleep] sites and also on other girls at school. My ex-boyfriend even said I had 'salami nipples' during an intimate moment.. haha
I had a look at ourbreasts blog.. it is empowering to see women sharing their unique breasts. Certainly a community I would benefit from being apart of!
Although surgery would be a massive step for me to take, I think learning about it has played a key part in the process of reaching the day where I love my boobs for what they are..
Good day to you and your awesome boobies!
Hi Chloe!
You definitely have beautiful breasts! I am amazed at the fact that you're considering reduction. I actually have exactly the same size or breast and areolas and my boyfriend loves it! In fact he is quite attracted to the size and loves to play with them. Trust me, don't let anyone's opinion convince you to alter your natural shape.
I am beginning to appreciate and love my breasts more.. my now boyfriend loves them. I've always felt that there's a certain way boobs 'should' look and thats caused tooooo much self critique.
Wow, they are beautiful. I wouldn't change them :) Be happy! Definitely not salami nipples; your ex doesn't know what he's missing. They're great!
Thanks a lot, I'm moving away from thinking I need to change them.. self love is where it's at
Your boobs are so beautiful and perfect! Honestly you've got what I'd love to have! Just my opinion but I would not have a scalpel touch them when they look so lovely already. Your ex sounds very immature tbh. I have big areola but much smaller breasts with not a great shape (boo). There are heaps of men who either don't care or really, really love bigger areola! What is most important though is how you feel. Best wishes :)
surgery definitely is a big commitment and I don't quite think I could do it. I think researching this is part of the process of learning to love what I have. Your boobies sound like beautiful ones! Thankyou for your comment x

You continue to research until you know 100% you want to do this.
