It’s been a while and decided to post an update. The scar’s appearance has improved, no longer reddened, is narrower than the original crater I had. Was it worth it? I am neutral about it but at the end of the day just love yourself.

I really had high hopes for the results of the CO2 laser. The post laser session picture and the day after picture were very promising. However, the scar is appearing deeper and wider today. Did i take two steps back? Should have let the scar heal a little bit longer before having CO2 laser applied to it?

My experience with lasers is that it can look worse at first, but 3 months post laser should look much better. How is the scar now? I'm also thinking of doing punch excision.

Its what the doctor recommends really. Different lights pay an important role to judge but it looks very unnoticeable now. Unless someone is a real OCD would not pay attention to it. Even before you did it.

A topical lidocaine cream was applied to the site for 25 minutes prior to the lasering. The actual length of time it took to laser the area was quite possibly 1-2 minutes. Post laser, the medical assistant applied petroleum jelly to the area. I am usually not one to recommend the use of petroleum jelly products.
