2 weeks post - unsure of results, hoping my eye is still healing

2 Weeks Post-Op...unsure of my Results

I am 15 days out from surgery. I had a Mullerectomy done on my left eye. I have acquired ptosis and noticed my eye starting to droop about 15 years ago. The drooping was especially noticeable when I was tired or got a bad night's sleep. I finally decided to have surgery done and my surgeon recommended a Mullerectomy. I was going to wait to post photos until at least a month after surgery...but after seeing so many other's before and after photos after just one week (and how good they looked), I decided to go ahead and share my experience. Am I personally happy with the result? No...I thought I would see a more significant result. I'm hoping that my eye is still healing and that I will see the eye improve over the next couple of weeks. The problem is that my eye seems to be looking worse as the days go by. I was actually happiest with the result 2 days after surgery, which has me concerned now. I will continue to post updates but any feedback is greatly appreciated. Please be brutally honest haha.

I understand what you mean. How is it now? I'd definitely go back to my surgeon regards it dropping again

I updated the post a week ago so you can see my update. I will be having another surgery done soon. Exploring my options for that.

I had a consult with Dr. Gordon. He recommended the Mueller procedure. Line you, a trial with drops worked perfectly. After seeing your result, O am afraid to have this surgery. Are you considering returning to your surgeon for a revision surgery or are you looking for a different surgeon. Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

I am looking for a different surgeon currently. Is Dr. Gordon in NY? I am obviously not a doctor haha, but I can tell you from my research, the Mueller procedure is the preferred option if the drops worked well for you. I wouldn't let my experience deter you from getting it done. For my case, I think the failed outcome is more a result of my surgeon underestimating the lift I needed and didn't make the proper adjustments. I am looking into a couple of surgeons in California and one in Miami. I am pushing to have the anterior procedure done this time around to hopefully get a better result. I will keep you posted about what feedback I get.

Dr. Gordon was in Harrison New York. I also had a consult with Dr. Kenneth Steinsapir in Beverly Hills, California. He wanted to do the anterior approach, but wanted me to stay a week after surgery and see him every day so he could adjust the sutures, if necessary. From my research, I gather that the muller can be used if you need up to 3 mm of lift and has better contour than the anterior approach. There is also what is called an open sky mueller technique, where silk sutures are threaded through the eyelid skin and can be adjusted in the surgery or after the surgery to adjust the height of the eyelid, either up or down. I am looking for a surgeon who does the open-sky Mueller technique.

Failed Ptosis Surgery. Next Steps?

Derek16

I had a mullerectomy done to correct the ptosis in my left eyelid 10 months ago. I am less than pleased with the result and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for next steps, as I would like to have another surgery done ASAP. I understand perfect symmetry is impossible to achieve...but this result is less than satisfactory and there is still noticeable drooping. I also want to mention that I use Upneeq, and have been using it since before my surgery. The result I get from using that is what I would like to see from a surgical procedure. I have included a picture of that as well for reference. Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated.
