WORTH IT
Here are the pictures requested. I only had the ptosis surgery on my right eye... also Mr Ezra pointed out that I wouldn't get a perfectly symmetrical result given I have a natural fold in the right eyelid, but I didn't fancy anything drastic. It's the droop which has bothered me. Also what you can't get a sense of from the pics is that before, when i looked down, the level of my eyelids was different. My husband tells me they are now 'tracking' in synch... which makes me wonder how bad it must have looked beforehand.

Best Choice of Surgeon Ever
From start to finish, my experience with Mr Ezra was flawless. I've had a ptosis all my life - getting older it troubled me more: I just looked tired and uneven. I decided to do something about it last year, but I first saw another surgeon who didn't fill me with confidence. I did some more research and came across Mr Ezra's details. I'm relieved I did. He has a wealth of experience, and an open and caring manner which totally put me at ease.
I have always been extremely nervous about eye surgery. I have a reflexive inability to keep my eyes open when anyone touches them & I was really worried about my ability to get through ptosis surgery under sedation not GA. I thought I would be conscious and fully aware of what was happening. The thought of being awake with my eyelid flipped was slightly panic inducing. I wasn't sure how I would get through it without messing up the outcome.
Mr Ezra assured me that careful control of sedation would make this completely manageable. I didn't quite understand the importance of the anaesthetist and how deftly they can put you under and bring you round. I just assumed they would administer something to make me woozy so Mr Ezra could get on with the procedure. In reality, the sedation was a synch.
After a couple of eyedrops from Mr Ezra, which I blinked like mad through... I was asleep! When I came to, Mr Ezra asked me to sit up and look at him. I felt him touching my eye, but I don't remember any pain or discomfort. He told me my eyes looked great and that was it! The whole process was very smooth and seemingly effortless. Over in a flash.
After a half hour or so I went home. I could see immediately that the results were fantastic. I had no stitches, and little bruising. After a day or two my eye was puffy and a little bruised. But one week later, I have completely recovered. My eyes are even - all traces of droopiness have gone.
I do wish that I had this surgery 20 years ago - but I know it could been a very different experience and a different outcome with a different surgeon. I am so very grateful that Mr Ezra so simply and easily drew a line under a problem I long considered insurmountable. If you're considering eye surgery - I would absolutely recommend that you see him.
