Here's what happened in just two months of the shed. The picture from just before I began isn't great quality, so I don't have the whole 3.5 month progression. Still, I think you can see how fast I'm losing. Thanks, PRP. Also, the doctor who performed these is flatly denying that PRP can cause shedding even though it's listed as a possible side effect in the consent form, which is just insult to injury. Last but not least, know that a lot of the pictures in the gallery here, while not fake, show the results of PRP PLUS Minoxidil or Finasteride or other proven treatment. Go to the doctors' actual website as the captions are usually more detailed.

PRP Made Things Worse

29/F. Had two of a recommended 5 treatments. Pure PRP, Eclipse machine used. First treatment they used a lidocaine ringblock, which was extremely painful and took three weeks to fully recover from (I think I am sensitive to lidocaine), so for the second (6 wekks post) I went without anesthesia and it hurt but it's fine, and the recovery was a single day.
Both of these treatments triggered increased shedding. I had been shedding some 70 hairs per day prior to the first treatment, and the PRP increased that number to around 200 per day. The second one has increased it further to an approximate 300. My scalp has become itchy and inflamed. There is no sign of regrowth 3 months after the first treatment. I hope that eventually I may regrow some of the hair lost in what is apparently a TE shed caused by trauma/inflammation.
My doctor is reputable and I think PRP just doesn't work for everyone. I had read all the studies (and all the positive reviews here, some of which I can now clearly see are bogus) and was so hopeful that there was a non-drug that could help me.
Just be aware that this is happening to a lot of people on the forums, which is why I have concluded that this is not some Minoxidil-like shed-that's-a-good-sign, but rather is simply a big shed that I can only hope to at least partially recover from.
Looks like it's an androgen blocker for me.

I appreciate your review as I was considering this treatment today. I am one who would experience "rare side effects." Looking at your pictures, I think your hair looks great. It does not look thin and there is no visible difference in the pictures. Thanks for sharing.
