Reverse Tummy Tuck with Dr. Z Was the Best Decision! - Providence, RI

I’ve come into contact with a number of plastic surgeons for personal and professional reasons over the years, and Dr. Zenowicz honestly blew all of those other surgeons out of the water. He truly has gone above and beyond in a way that no other surgeon has come close to in my experience. I spent a lot of time researching various doctors before choosing Dr. Z because the procedure that I wanted (reverse abdominoplasty i.e. reverse tummy tuck) is one that very few surgeons have significant experience with. The standard abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a much more common procedure, but I knew that there were down sides to a full tummy tuck that I didn’t want (hip-to-hip scars and having to get a new belly button that may not look natural). Plus, I didn’t need a full tummy tuck anyway because I had extra skin above my belly button, but very little loose skin below it, so the reverse tummy tuck was the ideal procedure for me. Before meeting with Dr. Z, I had a consult with one other surgeon whose name kept coming up for this procedure because I was going to be in that area anyway. He seemed like an excellent surgeon, but when I found out that Dr. Z had trained him on how to do reverse tummy tucks, I decided to go with the master on this one.  I can’t tell you how thankful I am that I chose Dr. Z! After years of saving up, I flew from the Southwest to Rhode Island for my consultation with him. I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t get much time with him because I was his last appointment of the day. Boy was I wrong! I still can’t believe how much time Dr. Z spent patiently answering all of my questions and concerns and showing me pictures of previous patients’ results. He even gave me an article he published on the technique that he pioneered and a DVD of him performing the procedure at a conference in front of hundreds of other plastic surgeons!

I’ve been amazed that even with his very busy schedule, Dr. Z made me feel like I was his only patient. After my consult, he encouraged me to contact him with further questions (which I ended up doing a lot!) and he was incredibly responsive to my emails. Dr. Z even Skyped with me several times so I could show him the areas that I still had questions about. When I told him my ideal surgery date (about 4 weeks later, during a week I had off from work), I didn’t think that it’d be possible to arrange everything so quickly. But Dr. Z made it happen and moved mountains to accommodate the surgery date that was most convenient for me. He also mailed me my prescriptions ahead of time because they were cheaper for me to fill in state and even traded surgery days with another physician in order for me to be able to use their less expensive operating facility. I was truly stunned by his generosity, concern, and level of dedication, and had never experienced anything close to that before with any other surgeon.

The surgery experience with Dr. Z was excellent. He was very reassuring on the day of my surgery and his nurses were highly attentive to my needs. The operating facility was also much more comfortable than I expected. Even though there was some time pressure to get started with operation, Dr. Z ensured that all of my last minute questions were answered before we went into the operating room. He also gave me a very expensive injectable anesthetic so that I’d be more comfortable after surgery and on my flight home. There is honestly not a single thing I would have changed about my experience.

Given that I had had my surgery and paid my fees, I expected that I wouldn’t hear much from Dr. Z, particularly after the first month. Instead, Dr. Z exceeded all of my expectations again! His personal attention in the aftercare phase is astonishing and simply unparalleled. First, Dr. Z coordinated aftercare for me locally with a physician he had trained a number of years ago. I think many surgeons would have stopped at that, but since then he has Skyped with me every week so that he can be aware of the progress of my healing. In order to fit this in with his busy schedule it means that this ends up being at 8pm my time/10pm his time! In the first week after my procedure, I asked him how often we would Skype because I was concerned about taking up too much of his time. To my surprise, his response was “Twice a week until you’re happy with the outcome”. I couldn’t believe a physician as busy as he is was willing to devote that much time to me as only one of his many patients. Additionally, Dr. Z was genuinely interested in receiving feedback about my experience and shared my responses with his staff. Finally, he will also be coordinating with another physician he trained in the city I’m moving to, just in case I need additional in-person care related to my procedure in the future. He is simply the best!

I have already gotten a ton of compliments on my appearance, so the outcomes really speak for themselves. I could not be happier with the results and could not have chosen a surgeon with greater skill, consideration, and dedication to his patients and their satisfaction. I would definitely encourage anyone seeking a plastic surgeon to at least consult with Dr. Z, he is phenomenal!
