Profound RF - Scarring and Hollow Cheeks

I was excited to have this procedure done for my sagging jowls and turkey neck. I was told it was the best treatment available for my problem. The final result over a year later is a disaster. I have been left with white, 1 inch vertical scars across my jowls, clearly caused by the radiofrequency wand. The scars are much whiter than my normal skin color and from a distance look like white rectangular patches. Secondly, any and all of the fat in my face melted away. My cheeks are sunken in and hollowed, giving me an emaciated or skeleton look. Not the look I was trying to achieve. My skin is sagging more than ever and I look ten years older. I did not get any of the skin tightening effects as promised. I am middle aged with a lean build and maybe this procedure was not the best for my body type or perhaps the doctor was too aggressive when performing the procedure. I never thought I would have a problem, particularly with a non-surgical procedure, but I am proof that there are no guarantees.

This is the scarring on my face from the procedure. I have these scars on both sides of my face on my jowls. They can be easily seen from a distance and look like white patches. They were not visible until approximately 8 or 9 months after the procedure. So along with the poor results, I acquired these scars. I also have a few marks under my jaw but they cannot be seen.

Ugh! SO sorry to hear this. I also have a white square where the wand of a CO2 laser blemished me and somehow removed the pigment... and abother square in the same quadrant of my face which has become more deeply pigmented (darker) for some reason. This sucks and I wish we could do a class action lawsuit against this industry.

PS how painful was the treatment?

I did not find the procedure to be painful. I was given sedatives and was not much aware of what was going on. The recovery was not a problem and the mild swelling went down quickly. It was very surprising to get the results that I did when it all went so well in the beginning and was an easily tolerated procedure.

Additional Scar Photo

I am sorry that the photos are not clear, but I hope they give some idea of the scarring. I don’t know why they are clear on my phone but fuzzy once I post them. I hope this photo is a little better and you may also be able to see in this particular photo that my skin is blotchy, not an issue I previously had.

What doctor did you go to. I have scarring as well under eyes from fractora

My doctor does not perform Fractora but I did notice in some of the Fractora reviews that scarring in that procedure can be a problem as well. Any chance you have heard of a way to get rid of or decrease the appearance of scars caused by our procedures?
