Pics of before and after Profound treatment
I had the Profound RF treatment about 11 months ago to help with fine lines and to firm up my face and neck.
Before the procedue started, I was injected with a numbing solution all over my face and neck. Once I was numb, the doctor started the procedure. For the most part, I didn't feel anything but once in a while I would feel a tinge of pain on the outer parts of my face. The procedure Uses 5 pairs of tiny needles fitted into an electrode. The concentrated radiofrequency energy is directed deep into the dermis, without causing any damage to the top layer of skin.
It took about 45 minutes to complete the process. I was very swollen after the procedure...almost unrecognizable...which I was prepared for but the recovery took much longer than I anticipated.
I was told that it would take about 48 hours until the swelling went done and I could go back to work. That was not the case for me...at all. It took me 3 weeks for the swelling and bruising to completely go away. I wished I had known that some people take 2-3 weeks to recover, because I would of scheduled the procedure for another time. I did some research on RealSelf and saw that a lof of folks took 2 weeks to recover. I have light skin and bruise easy so if you are like me...be prepared.
After about 3 months I could see a big improvement in the reduction of my fine lines and nasal labial folds. I didnt see much difference in my neck. I'm glad that I had the procedure but wish I would of saved my money towards a face lift. I was 49 years old at the time and wasn't sure what direction to go. Between the Profound and facial injections, I could of paid for a mini Facelift.
If you are under 50 and looking to reduce fine lines or acne, this is a great procedure and Dr. Seth Jones is an excellent doctor.
