Profound RF and Kybella
Fearless9994November 22, 2019
I had Kybella injections on October 30th. Takes at least 4 weeks to see results a week prior to that I had fillers in my cheeks with a plan to do Profound RF after Kybella. I had that yesterday. All in an effort to get rid of fat under chin, loose skin under chin and on neck and lift my saggy jowls. Injections were immediate satisfaction and lifted jowls some. Kybella swelling was significant. Bullfrog for sure. Found it hard to hide. Swelling was still significant at two weeks. Much less but I was self conscious with my new boyfriend. 3 weeks still had some swelling but almost to baseline.
At 3 weeks I did Profound RF. The numbing injections were awful. I’ve recently sat for a two hour tattoo session and another three hour tattoo session. I basically sat through these without moving or saying anything and it not being that bad to get through. These numbing shots had my eyes watering. I thought I was going to cry and I was out loud saying things like oh my God ow. Hurt. And there a lot of them. But you gotta do it or the laser will hurt a lot. I wasn’t prepared for it though.
The nurse goes over your face in rows with the profound laser needle thing. Your face is pretty numb so for the most part you don’t feel it. For me the loud clicking and anticipation of it maybe hurting was the worst. Some spots near your mouth or right on the edge of where you got the numbing injections you feel a little pain. However it is only three seconds and the laser stops. So all you have to do is get through three seconds. Not bad. I don’t have any good before photos because all I’ve saved are selfie‘s from the right angle that look good. LOL. I will try to get before pictures from the doctor dr when I see them next. I’ll share my progress along the way. Which will be up to six months since profound really takes six months to see significant results.Leaving last night I didn’t have any pain. My face was still numb. My kids were a little freaked out but I sort of explained what I did and they were OK with it. They were for sure checking it out. Last night you could see all the tiny little dots and it was more purple and bruised looking than anything. Not really any swelling. I left with a goopy layer of Aquaphor on my face and that was a little uncomfortable. I didn’t need any Tylenol although I was a little uncomfortable sleeping. Mostly because I’m a stomach sleeper so sleeping on my back was uncomfortable and having goopy Aquaphor all over my face in my bed was uncomfortable. That was Thursday night. Today is Friday and I’m working from home. I plan to stay home all weekend as I expect the swelling and the redness to take at least a few days. Today I’m quite puffy most of the purpleish is gone leaving behind very red bumpy skin. I am icing, probably not as much as I should. They said ice as much as possible. I don’t really have any discomfort other than tightness from the swelling and if I bend over it does hurt. Will update again tomorrow.

Recovery Progress
Fearless9994November 23, 2019
It is Saturday morning, less than 48 hrs since having Profound. I am still quite swollen, I don’t think it has decreased at all. I have angry red bumps that look like acne. I feel a bit of irritation, mostly tightness. It is tender to touch. I continued to struggle with sleep only because I hate sleeping in my back. My neck is less red. I will for sure be hiding at home today. Bending over brings immediate discomfort so some basic house chores can be uncomfortable.
I for sure can’t tell if the Kybella treatment is progressing because I am again swollen under my chin. All normal stuff.
