Six months and still waiting to see results from Profound RF
DianaArtemisDecember 21, 2019
Sorry I haven't updated my progress or reported anything, but to tell you the truth there hasn't been any changes and I mean nothing at all. Now I realize why a lot of Profound RF posts aren't updated for months at a time.
Around the 4 month mark my skin returned to its former self pertaining to the nerves. The occasional zapping stopped around 2 months and the tingling feeling when I rubbed or touched my face and neck subsided completely around 4 months. And I must say I'm relived because I'm following a young woman on the RealSelf forum that also had Profound done on her face and neck. According to her, she still has nerve sensitivity even at 9 months. Unfortunately, her result are not what she was hoping for either. By the way I thought she looked great even before her treatment.
The tight feeling my skin had in the first month and a half is gone and my oil production returned to normal along the same time. My skin's firmness or elasticity has not improved. Now at six months when I look into the mirror I see my former face before the treatment. My neck still sagging as it was before and my jowls are still there, no tighter or less and my jaw line doesn't look any more defined. But at least the turkey wobble neck from the treatment is now gone.
A concern of mine was the bumps, redness and blotchiness of my skin after the treatment. Around 8 to 10 weeks that all settled down. But now on my cheeks I have pigment scarring or maybe it's call hyper pigmentation - skin that's darker in color than the normal surrounding skin- mine are small dots or needle pricks that I would described looking like light freckles evenly spaced. It's not the whole treated face but a small area the size of a sliver dollar and it's only noticeable in some lights and probably only by me. I was very vigilant about using sunscreen at all times.
At my six month check-up on Dec 16 my practitioner noted no different but again she reminded me that patient don't start see results until the 6 to 9 month mark and sometimes you just don't realize your getting results if you're looking at it every day because the change is very subtle.
I have taking a few six month photos myself but the quality is poor and hard to see anything. I will try again after the holidays. My practitioner has been taking photos of my journey, she said she'll have someone compile all my before and after photos and send them to me. Once I receive the photos I will share them.

My Experience Thus Far, 3 Weeks After Profound RF
DianaArtemisJuly 10, 2019
21 Days: No photos, just checking in. At my 1 week post check-up my medical practitioner told me everything looked great and the red bumps are common, they will disappear in time. That time for me was over 2 weeks before the red faded and the raised bumps went down. Now when I run my fingers across my cheeks and neck it feels rough and my complexion is blotchy. I was told by my practitioner not to do anything like a Microdermabrasion or peel for 6 week till I get my coloring back. Physically there is no change in the firmness or elasticity of my skin. Although my skin feels tighter or perhaps it's just dryer. My skin has always been on the oily side which I believe helps with the wrinkles. I can't see how less natural oils on my skin is going to help it, I find this upsetting. Face and neck are still slightly swollen with wobble neck but nothing anyone else seems to notice or has commented on. Both face and neck are numb, yet tender to the touch. It's especially tender on the neck and jaw line but this is only if I apply pressure. After applying moisturizer, make-up or washing my face I experiences a tingling, vibrating sensation, again this is nothing alarming just interesting. On occasion I feel a localized nerve zap or pinch. The strangest thing is out of nowhere I experience a cheek face flush, sort of like I'm blushing but I can feel it, all prickly. I'm not trying to frighten or persuade anyone with these symptoms I'm only sharing my experience and please note it is never painful even with my face smashed in to my pillow at night :) I can honestly say as of today; it is still not worth the cost, but time well tell.

I did profound to my neck in November 2018. After waiting the recommended 4 months I saw no improvement whatsoever and felt rather disheartened... however at around 7 months post op I did notice a marked improvement. Be patient.

Yep disheartented , especially when I look at my bank account :( Thank you for your words of Encouragement, six weeks out and still no improvement. I do know it's about the long run and seeing results.

Following you. Really appreciate your detailed review. I sincerely hope that the procedure turns out well.

Thank you, I will be updating my review at my two month mark in about two weeks with any progress and photos. :)

It will take anywhere form 6-8 months to see the difference. It is not an overnight change. I had it done and at the 8 month mark my daughter said "Wow Mom your face looks great and the acne scars are just about gone. My best friend noticed it also. But, it takes patience to allow the collagen to regenerate and for the changes to take place. I had it done a 2nd time a year later to get rid of the residual scars that had not completely faded. Loved my results!

So glad it worked out will for you and thank you for your encouragement it has helped me along the way.

Good to hear! I had it done 3 weeks ago and still healing and I was wondering based on the posts I see on here if it was even worth it!

My first week after Profound RF
DianaArtemisJune 27, 2019
I made some notes on my cell over the week. Posting them just as they were written because I'm sure they convey the feelings I had at that time. Please excuse any misspelled words or confusion as I was just trying to get my thought down.
For the first 48 hours I iced and slept sitting up.
Day 1: 24 hours later. There was no change, red and irritated looking but no pain. I had extreme swelling.
Day 2: 48 hours later. Continued swelling in my face, it's twice it normal size, still red and has the look of bad acne now, slight bruising beginning, feels tingly and has a numb feeling on touch, my skin feels lathery and tight but not in a good way but more dry, started to use moisture as directed.
Day 3 and 4: More bruises have appeared although it is very minimal and what was already there has slightly darkened. Don't know if the low bruising was the results of a skilled technician or for 3 days prior to the procedure I dissolved 5 pellets of Arnica Montana 200ck under my tongue 3 times a day and continued using it for another 3 after or maybe a combination. Swelling has gone down on day 4 but again, very minimal. Makes my jaw line look square and face has a fuller appearances, my jowls look larger and protruding hoping it doesn't stay and this is where my collagen is going to rebuild. Cheeks look like I have very bad acne or acne scars. My face is still leathery. Also tender, tingling, and numb to the touch. Neck now is loose and wobbles like a turkey's neck when I shake my head.
Day 5 and 6: Although the general redness is gone my cheeks still have red bumps on them it looks like I have very bad acne and acne scars, hoping this doesn't last. I was prepared for pain, redness, bruising, and swelling but not the bumps on my face. If you were to ask me today if it was worth it I'd say NO. I'm extremely worried about face scaring at this point. Still swelling in face and neck. Still tingling to the touch and day 5 I now feel periodic pinching sensation, (nerves?)
Seven days after the Profound RF. Swelling continues in face and neck, along with my turkey neck. I have heard from others as well that swelling takes months before going down. Jaw is tender to touch, numb and tingly feeling is still there although it is less each passing day. Pinching sensation is gone. When I running my finger over my skin I feel bumps, lumps and creators. Red bumps still prominent they are my biggest concern right now. I will ask about them at my post check-up.

I wish I had found these reviews before doing this procedure 3 days ago. I have extreme bruising and my face is beyond swollen. I have large bumps on my neck. Looking to see how everyone’s results go. As at this point, I’m scared to death I’ve ruined my face. Everyone told me not to do this.
December 21, 2019
I hope you're healing well. Please don't worry, in a couple of weeks the miracle of makeup will be able to hide most skin blotchiness and redness that are left. The swelling is only minimal for the first couple of months, other people don't seem to notice it. We are own worst critics. My family had the same response when I told them I was having it done. So of course I never let on to them about any of my disappointment or worries over the treatment and still don't, that why I'm grateful for this forum. And again don't despair your skin, face, and neck, will at the very less return to its former self. I hope your get the result your want and your journey is a rewarding one.

Hello! Swelling has diminished tremendously, but zero change so far. It’s only been 2 1/2 weeks, I guess I just need to exercise patience, since this is not an immediate result.
