ORIGINAL POST

55+ Year Old Women Grows Self-conscious Cuz of Resting Witch Face with "B".

DianaArtemis
I started looking for a non-surgical fix for my laxed skin, dropping mouth, and jowls that gave me the appearance of a grumpy old lady. I decided to do something about my resting bitch face because I was becoming weary of repeatedly being asked why are you mad or upset, when in truth there was nothing wrong, I was fine and happy. So much for growing old gracefully and looking happy while doing it. Okay I'll admit it, I wanted a younger looking face and neck also big smile. Now except for a few women's reviews here on the Real Self's site I was not able to find any true life reviews with results or information on Profound RF that was not commercialized. I went for a non-pressured consultation and was told I could benefit from the procedure. So anyway here I am. I will try to check in weekly to post my experience and results over the next few month. Posting of photos makes me feel vulnerable and exposed but I know how beneficial they can be, so I will post some. I hope other will find this helpful and that I achieve the results I want.

Thanks for posting, I'll be following your results. I had Profound RF 3 weeks ago for the same reasons. I plan on posting my review soon. Personally, I was VERY swollen for several days. Be prepared for some down time.

Thank you for the information. I had it done 3 days ago and I'm in the swollen stage right now and beginning to think, oh no... what did I do? It will be great to support each other through our journey. I will be watching for your post.

The big day. The Profound experience.

DianaArtemis
I had the procedure done at Jandali Plastic Surgery's office by Suzanne Naples BSN, RN, she is well experienced at Profound RF. I knew I was in capable hands she was fantastic and very accommodating. The facility is welcoming and clean and the staff is amazing: professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly, from the receptionists, to the nurses, right to Dr. Jandali himself.

With that being said, This is my personal experience and end results.
Day of: I took a mild anti-anxiety medicine that was offered because I didn't know what to expect. We started by taking a few "before" photos. Next, laying down Suzanne made sure I was comfortable, offered me a blanket and two stress balls to hold. When I think about it now those stress balls really did help a lot, like biting a bullet. No numbing cream was applied before the local anesthesia injections and I don't think pre-numbing was necessary. For me there were a few sensitive areas during the injections: near ears and around the lips and high cheeks, which made my eyes tear. Once numbed the actual RF injectable needles process was not painful but for an occasional discomfort. I guess the best way to explain the discomfort is that it felt like localized heat penetrating the layers of my skin that would reach a peck than subside before it became painful (breath and squeeze stresses balls). At times, I heard crackling noises, but nothing alarming. At one point, I needed additional anesthesia on my cheeks closes to my ears. I thought it would hurt around the lips, but nope and surprisingly I felt no pain in the neck area which I thought would be really sensitive. Two and half hours after arriving I left with ice packs and goody bag (moisturize, sunscreen, and make-up foundation) in hand, no pain, feeling normal except for the red cheeks and neck with needle punch marks on them.

My first week after Profound RF

DianaArtemis
I made some notes on my cell over the week. Posting them just as they were written because I'm sure they convey the feelings I had at that time. Please excuse any misspelled words or confusion as I was just trying to get my thought down.
For the first 48 hours I iced and slept sitting up.
Day 1: 24 hours later. There was no change, red and irritated looking but no pain. I had extreme swelling.
Day 2: 48 hours later. Continued swelling in my face, it's twice it normal size, still red and has the look of bad acne now, slight bruising beginning, feels tingly and has a numb feeling on touch, my skin feels lathery and tight but not in a good way but more dry, started to use moisture as directed.
Day 3 and 4: More bruises have appeared although it is very minimal and what was already there has slightly darkened. Don't know if the low bruising was the results of a skilled technician or for 3 days prior to the procedure I dissolved 5 pellets of Arnica Montana 200ck under my tongue 3 times a day and continued using it for another 3 after or maybe a combination. Swelling has gone down on day 4 but again, very minimal. Makes my jaw line look square and face has a fuller appearances, my jowls look larger and protruding hoping it doesn't stay and this is where my collagen is going to rebuild. Cheeks look like I have very bad acne or acne scars. My face is still leathery. Also tender, tingling, and numb to the touch. Neck now is loose and wobbles like a turkey's neck when I shake my head.
Day 5 and 6: Although the general redness is gone my cheeks still have red bumps on them it looks like I have very bad acne and acne scars, hoping this doesn't last. I was prepared for pain, redness, bruising, and swelling but not the bumps on my face. If you were to ask me today if it was worth it I'd say NO. I'm extremely worried about face scaring at this point. Still swelling in face and neck. Still tingling to the touch and day 5 I now feel periodic pinching sensation, (nerves?)
Seven days after the Profound RF. Swelling continues in face and neck, along with my turkey neck. I have heard from others as well that swelling takes months before going down. Jaw is tender to touch, numb and tingly feeling is still there although it is less each passing day. Pinching sensation is gone. When I running my finger over my skin I feel bumps, lumps and creators. Red bumps still prominent they are my biggest concern right now. I will ask about them at my post check-up.

I wish I had found these reviews before doing this procedure 3 days ago. I have extreme bruising and my face is beyond swollen. I have large bumps on my neck. Looking to see how everyone’s results go. As at this point, I’m scared to death I’ve ruined my face. Everyone told me not to do this.
December 21, 2019
I hope you're healing well. Please don't worry, in a couple of weeks the miracle of makeup will be able to hide most skin blotchiness and redness that are left. The swelling is only minimal for the first couple of months, other people don't seem to notice it. We are own worst critics. My family had the same response when I told them I was having it done. So of course I never let on to them about any of my disappointment or worries over the treatment and still don't, that why I'm grateful for this forum. And again don't despair your skin, face, and neck, will at the very less return to its former self. I hope your get the result your want and your journey is a rewarding one.

Hello! Swelling has diminished tremendously, but zero change so far. It’s only been 2 1/2 weeks, I guess I just need to exercise patience, since this is not an immediate result.
