After three c - sections and one emergency...

After three c - sections and one emergency c-section with hysterectomy I was left with a horrible stomach. Losing weight was frustrating because my stomach would look worse.
I but the bullet and had a full tummy tuck....and have not regretted it! It was quite painful the first three days after the procedure, but pre planning and having a helper made a world of difference. Plus it helps that I am an occupational therapist with training in edema management and wound care ;-)
The only surprising thing was the amount of edema in my upper thighs the first couple of days after the drains were removed. This has since mostly resolved with a low sodium diet, passive and active edema therapy, gentle walking and lots of hydration.
This was one of the best investments I have made ....!!!

Have you heard anything about putting a marble in your bb with a bandaid over it? It's supposed to keep it from closing up.

I have heard about the marble but my button healed up awesome without it. I think it depends on how the surgeon constructs the belly button.

I had a hysterectomy as well 5years ago, my stomach seemed to balloon up ever more after the surgery. Was this your experience too? Now Im comtemplating a TT

I gained a lot of weight with that particular pregnancy. .. and then went into grad school. .. so I really packed on weight and in totally different spots that wouldn't budge no matter how much I ran. . Plus the vertical scar bisected my stomach into a "front ass". .. so sexy! I have a large scar now hip to hip and stretch marls that were above my belly button the results were worth it. .just ensure you research your potential surgeon. .. I am sure you will be pleased with your results if you choose to do it :-)

I have to say. ...I am a little obsessed with my bellybutton....I mean, I HAVE A bellybutton now and not some skin crater in the center of my abdomen...I think my husband thinks I am a little narcissistic these days...I keep taking pictures!! My incision is healing well, but the swelling has popped up some of my stretchmarks and I have one or two areas that look like tiny pleats...However, I am not concerned as most of this should resolve over the next six months :-) My incision is starting to itch...I have dreams that I scratch it. .. These dreams have mostly replaced my fantasies about being on a desert island with Brad Pitt ;-)

I've heard the pleats resolve themselves after the stitches are removed. I had also heard that some people put a marble in their BB with a bandaid over it to keep it from closing up and getting too small. You look amazing!!! Wow! I'm going in for mine at the end of Aug. and am getting nervous. I keep thinking I will still look the same. : )

My "pleats" turned out to just be swollen stretchmarks at the incision line...they're all gone now :-) Have had no issues with my belly button so far...I actually HAVE a belly button now ;-) Good luck on your upcoming surgery!! You WILL NOT LOOK THE SAME AFTER!! It is going to probably be a bit more painful then you imagined....and "swell hell" is and real thing. Remember to let others help you and take time to heal....However, it is all worth it in the end!! I recommend reading over the tummy tuck survival guide post on here... :-)

No problem! I am the first of my friends to have this procedure so I kinda went in blind. This site has been really helpful and it's nice to know you aren't the only one with questions /concerns!!

Yes! This site is amazing. I've seen several youtube videos of people with tts. You can see the transformation in their life and personalities.
How are you feeling this weekend?
Wonderful, your tummy is looking fantastic. Â Wow what a nice result. Â Go slow with the cleaning and pamper yourself for a while. Â I do know what you mean about the t-rec arms though...LOL Â Â We do what we need to do and get very creative.
