After careful deliberation I did decide to go with Dr Volkan Kahya instead. I documented my entire journey on instagram :)

Primary Rhinoplasty with Dr Umit Taskin!
Hey everyone!
I've started this review to begin to document my journey with Dr Umit Taskin. After over 2 years of research I have decided to book with this Dr. He was my first choice at the very beginning & I seem to always end up coming back to him & his results, so this I took as a sign (as well as loving his work ofc).
To give you some background I have never had rhino or fillers on my nose. My main concerns, as you'll see in the pictures, are;
- Overprojection
- Bulbous tip
- Dorsal hump (esp on 1 side, weird)
- Generally too large & wide for my small face
Before COVID19 hit I was actually booked with Dr Mirza Firat, however really started to reconsider as negative reviews were coming out, then when it was cancelled due to Coronavirus I took this as ANOTHER sign, and went back to my original, Taskin! During lockdown i've obviously had unlimited time to research further, and found myself doubting my choice of Dr often, but I think this is completely natural. Most Dr's have SOME bad reviews & I found comfort when reading them to remember;
1. To understand the difference between not perfect & botched, some people expectations are just too high
2. To pay attention to how long ago surgery was, girls I follow on insta's results have been soooo questionable at the start, then by 6, 7, 8 months post op it looks like a completely different nose. Patience is key!
3. To only take advice/opinions of a Dr from THEIR OWN PATIENTS. None of this 'my friend went to him and hated it' with zero evidence or photos to back the claims up, I don't actually understand why some girls even do this, but people are weird.
The other Dr i've gone back & forth in my mind (but only during lockdown) if Dr Huseyin Balikci. His results are nice, but slightly too 'barbie' for me, however what put me off most was his vague replies, maybe a language barrier but something just seemed off. Very disengaged & every surgery/technique question led back to 'so have you decided yet?' Also his constant, inconsistent price increases! I was in a WhatsApp group where I had been quoted by him 6000euro, another girl 7500euro, and another 5000euro for REVISION. It's like he was making the price up on the spot. This didn't ring well for me, as well as being told the price, which included hotels & transfers, WOULDN'T change if I didn't WANT the hotel & transfers?! v. money motivated, which made me concerned about aftercare, incase he was a take your money & run kinda guy.
My main reasons for choosing Dr Taskin are;
- VERY helpful responses, he's happy to tell you what technique/grafts he'll be using etc
- Prompt responses from HIM, not an assistant with generic replies
- Natural style which fits my wishes, his noses rarely look 'done', there is of course a few, however they are followed with glowing reviews so were obviously requested by the patient!
- He's involved in the surgery circuit a lot, he does talks & has contributed to research papers, this to me says its not an 'all about the money' job, he obviously cares & loves what he does!
- I'm aware of bad reviews, however nothing I have seen relates to my own nose & problems. I don't doubt his skill/ability for one second, I understand his work is not to everyones taste!
So yes. Thats my journey so far! My new date is beginning of August & I plan on giving a very detailed review of everything as these helped me soooooo much during my own research. Thanks for reading! I know i'm probably not much help until after surgery but I don't mind answering any questions xoxoxox
