4 weeks post-op
Hello everyone, this picture was taken exactly four weeks post operation. I'm very happy with my results so far. The first two to three weeks recovery were uncomfortable. Now it really starts to feel more like my nose! I can tell my tip is still very swollen because when I touch it, the skin bounces back as if there is fluid in my tip. I was worried the first two weeks because it was soooo swollen and it looked too thick from the front. It does get better everyday!
primary rhinoplasty with dr ali evlice, turkey
Right after surgery
Hi babes!
I’m here to give you a review about Dr Ali Evlice in Adana/Istanbul. So I saw this video from Ashley, she is from the UK. I immediately fell in love with her results. That same week I sent a dm to Dr Ali’s page. I got a fast respond. Mind you, this was on December 24th 2020, I’ve heard the replies are slower now because he and his team are very busy. Anyway, I got standard information about the procedure and I wanted to make an appointment straight away. I got the whatsapp number to make an appointment. I wanted to get surgery in Istanbul because it’s closer to me and more touristy. The assistant told me that Adana would be a better option because the waiting list is shorter and Adana is less crowded than Istanbul. I was told that Dr Ali operates in Istanbul three days a month, and the rest of the month he operates in Adana. I decided to give in and get surgery in Adana.
So we scheduled my consultation on the 25th of February and my surgery date was going to be the next day, on the 26th. To secure my appointment I had to make a € 200,- deposit.
The assistant told me that I had to stay in Adana for ten days. I booked my flight and hotel. I flew to Istanbul and had a transfer to Adana.
During this time, Turkey was in lockdown. I stayed at the Golden Deluxe Hotel. It was fine, the rooms are a little dated but clean. Service is amazing, they went out of their way for me. Would definitely recommend.
The next day I had my blood test and covid test. I had to fill in some forms and had a short conversation with the anesthetist. Orcun was the guy that led me trough the procedure at the hospital. When I was finished, I went to the office of Dr Ali which is a 7 minute ride away from the hospital. An assistant made pictures of my face and then I finally had my consultation with Dr Ali! He was very nice. He started examining my nose. He gave me general information about rhinoplasty. He mentioned that no one should seek for perfection. People that seek for perfection will probably be happy the first three months and after a while they'll think about getting another rhinoplasty, which he obviously wants to prevent. With other words, if you want to get a barbie doll nose, I don’t think Dr Ali is the perfect surgeon for you. He has his own natural style, as you can see on his page. His goal is to balance out your face. He is very honest and humble. Dr Ali won’t sell you dreams. He told me his revision rate is 7%.
I wanted to show him pictures of what I liked, I thought that was part of the consultation. But he didn’t seem very interested in me showing these pictures because he said every nose is different and I can’t give you a nose of someone else. I understood this, but it would be nice if I could be able to tell him what I do and don’t like.
He made a simulation of my nose and I could not believe my eyes. I loved it! I told him that I want that exact nose. He told me that the end result could vary a little, the tip could be slightly higher or lower. Anyways, I was determined to go with the surgery. I trusted Dr. Ali. Because of this simulation I didn't feel bad about him not being very interested in the pictures I wanted to show him.
Costs
This is my first (and hopefully last) time getting rhinoplasty, so my price was € 3500,- (I’ve heard he charges € 4000,- now for a primary rhinoplasty)
This includes:
The deposit I had to make while booking the appointment (200,-);
The costs of the pre operative blood and covid test (200,-)
One night at the hospital
Preparation
I’ve had nose fillers (hyaluronic fillers) for almost four years. I had to get them removed at least a month before the actual surgery. I got them removed at the same cosmetic doctor that put them in my nose. This was actually traumatic. I forgot what my nose looked like. I have a huge bump and with fillers, you could not tell. I hated it. I could not think of anything else than this upcoming surgery. This made me so determined and ready to go through this. It was a month full of watching YouTube videos about rhinoplasty, vlogs, especially rhinoplasty vlogs to Turkey. I think I’ve literally seen them all.
I started using Arnica drops two weeks prior to surgery. I used 10 drops, three times a day. So 30 drops a day. A week before surgery I increased my dose to 20 drops, three times a day. I also started drinking pineapple juice a week before surgery since all YouTubers say it helps bruising and swelling. I also ate pineapple every single day. I really liked pineapple before, now i’m just so sick of it lol.
Surgery
Day 1, Surgery day
I had to be in the hospital at 6:30 in the morning. My surgery was planned at 7:30. I got there and got a very spacious room. The Acibadem Hospital in Adana is very modern and I’d even say luxurious. The nurses don’t speak English. I used google translate on my phone. Then I was rolled to the operation room and I got my anasthesia. I didn’t see dr Ali this morning.
After I woke up I was shivering, it was so cold. A nurse tucked me in and than I got more comfortable. I wasn’t aloud to eat for the next 4 to 5 hours. My throat was hurting. Dr Ali came in and checked on me. He told me the surgery went well & everything was ok. He showed me my table pictures and video and oh my god!!! I could not believe my eyes. I was so happy. My nose turned out perfect. I couldn’t even imagine my nose would ever look like this. This feeling is something else. From being insecure about your nose everyday and every time you look in the mirror you just hate it, to actually loving it.
I got icepacks and I felt fine, except for my throat. I finally got to eat and drink. The food in the Acibadem hospital is pretty good actually.
Day 2
I felt awful. I couldn’t open my eyes. I was so bruised and swollen. I was very uncomfortable. I asked the assistant to let me stay an extra night. They charged me 90 euros for the extra night in the hospital.
Orcun came in and gave me my medications and explained everything to me in English.
Day 3
Awful, very depressing to be honest. I got back to my hotel. This process isn’t a joke.
Day 4
Still very uncomfortable.
Day 5
I got better and I was finally able to watch some Netflix, the days before I wasn’t able to because I couldn’t focus, the light would hurt my eyes and I could only just eat and sleep.
Day 6
I felt good!!! Still very uncomfortable but I was able to go to the mall, get some food and do some shopping.
Day 7, CAST OFF
I went to Dr Ali’s office. My tampons were removed which was such a relief. It felt like these tampon were touching my brains the last couple of days.
When Dr Ali got my cast off, I was a little shocked actually. On his IG page you see girls 7 days or 10 days post up looking like they haven’t done a thing to their faces, but I figured it was just the lighting and angles Dr Ali uses. I was still very bruised and swollen. My nose was swollen but my profile was sooooo pretty already. But there was a little disappointment because of my swelling… everyone on YouTube tells you this, but it hits different when the cast is actually coming off and you see your result.
Dr Ali also told me he found a little filler during the surgery that was left there and he removed it for me.
Cons:
- He didn’t aks me permission to post my pictures on IG, which I find a little unprofessional.
- The assistant tells you the exact time of the appointments the day before, which I think is a little late.
- The information about aftercare could be better. Everyone that’s getting a rhinoplasty has seen so many YouTube videos about it. So you already have an idea about what and what not to do but it would be nice if I got more information about it. For example, I thought I had to sleep in a seated position, I asked the assistant and she told me I could just lay down, on my back.
Results
I am so happy with my results. I could not even imagine my nose looking this perfect, i’m so in love with my new nose. I am very grateful that I’ve had this experience. I'm still very swollen and a little bruised. I'm 10 days post up now.
Please let me know if you have any questions, i’m happy to answer them all! Xx
