I was looking forward to neck lift . After the procedure this is the results. The biggest mess that I have seen in a long time!!!!!!!!!! There should of more of been done to make this look better than before the operation. The Dr's office have the before and after pictures if you want to view them they did not send them to me as requested. You can decide once you see the results of what you think of this !!!!! I have not seen these type of results before anywhere, maybe some people were afraid to post them and speak out. You can respond to this review and I will give you more information if needed.

When they did your neck left did they cut behind your ears? Also, did they put stiches in your neck to "synch" your neck up?? This is what I had 18 months ago and I still feel tight around my neck. And my neck also is starting to sag again!!! So soon???????

Thank you for sharing your experience on RealSelf!

Kleeh, I think the doctors do whatever they want. Unless of course we go to court and a Judge "Makes" them do something. My doctor never explained to me all that was involved in my neck lift. He never said this wonderful sculptra he gave me was going to need two more expensive treatments. Nor did he tell me that I would have a lump under my right eye and a lump on my right temple that would never go away. Was it in the fine print?? Maybe. But, I didn't read everything I signed. I'm a Realtor and I already knew that most of what I was signing was disclosures releasing them of liability should I decide to sue. But, we all know even if we sign those papers we can still sue them.
In my state they have to release records, which would include photos, when requested by the patient or be fined. The fine(s) are progressive as the time between request and response increases. Also, her $$ amount is within small claims jurisdiction if she is just wanting her money back so she can go to a doctor qualified to undo or redo this apparently botched job. A lot less angst, and if she writes the doctor and tell him her intention, he very likely will write her a refund check to keep from having the hassle and expense (if he sends his attorney to handle it for him) of having to appear in court. At least if he is smart he will. And she does not have to have an attorney represent her, but does need those before and after photos. If I were her I would write him requesting them, making a statement something like, as I requested via phone or in person on such and such date, I want my before and after photos and do intend to file a complain of non compliance with the state and (whatever medical association applies) if I do not receive the by (set date).
They probably have to here in Calif also. But, your right she could for sure go to Small Claims court and win. But, here in Calif. you can only sue for 5K and she probably paid more than that for her neck surgery. I think some of these doctors are horrible for not fixing what isn't right. And they should not charge for they're mistakes. Most of us aren't movie star rich!!!
she stated $5500 as the cost of the necklift. If she lives in CA as you do she would be able to file for damages up to $7500 in a given year (a corp would only be able to go after $5000 in a given year).
aren't doctors REQUIRED to provide you with all information/documentation requested? How can they not provide these photos?
Having a neck lift is a major surgery. My doctor put stiches behind my left year and they are to be there forever. They bother me now and I wasn't prepared for that. I didn't know that 18 months later they would still be feeling weird.
stitches ONLY behind your left ear?
There were stiches everywhere, but according to him he put "extra" stiches under my skin to help keep my neck tight. Have you ever heard of this?? Behind my left ear. Now I'm starting to wonder if the stiches are okay to be there the rest of my life??
I had stiches all over my head, behind and around both ears but, he put permanent stiches behind my left ear to help continue to keep my neck tight. They bother me to this day. I was hoping someone else would have heard of this.
I would like a Dr to respond to this so we can all learn if "extra stitches" placed only behind one ear is a customary for a necklift. I am trying to educate myself on what I need to be looking for or possibly guarding against when I speak with a surgeon.
I agree Kleeh. So much we didn't know to ask. I do know that my stiches bother me more at this time and I have a hard time turning my neck in that direction. I don't have the money to correct anything else and my inusurance wouldn't cover it unless my whole neck was infected. So I just feel like giving up at this point.
It sais below that "Daniel Bortnick, MD "tried" to correct the problem. For one thing if he was the one who did the surgery I don't feel that you should have had to pay for any correction. And yes he should keep trying until it is right. What so he gave up after trying a few things on your neck. You don't give up until it's done right or you get to have your name plastered all over forums like this and you aren't getting good reviews!! What are these doctors thinking?? Don't take the job unless you can do it right. We pay good money. Also, my face was literally crooked because more sculptra one added to one side so when I went to have more put in to even my face out they wanted to charge me 500.00 and I wouldn't pay. I was like, "Nope, you just fixed what you didn't do right in the beginning". This was all after the doctor sat and tried to convince me that no one's face was perfect!!!!!!
I don't understand why Linda10852 is commenting on the photos of JBuck50blue. If it's acceptable, then at the least it's very confusing to readers.
