My upper lip was about 15mm and I wanted it a but...

My upper lip was about 15mm and I wanted it a but shorter. My lips faced downwards slightly rather than forwards so from the front I didn't have much of the red part of the lip showing.
Fillers seemed to give me duck lip if done in the border ir cover my teeth and look lumpy if done elsewhere in the lips. Plus I wanted something that required less maintenance!
I was warned by several places about scarring and refused a lip lift by quite a few surgeons. I know my face best and what I want to achieve so that annoyed me a bit.
Anyway I was going along with my mother in law to Prague for her facelift so Dr Vasek agreed to take a look even though he didn't think I really needed it. Luckily he agreed once he took a look in person and I had my op the same day!
The clinic was lovely, nurses were so kind. I just had local with sedation so was outpatient. My mother in law stayed in for two nights and was fed like a king ???? Dr Vasek is great, his suturing is extremely neat and Forme Clinic gave us full meds and some Stratamed gel which really helps with healing.
Cant believe how quick its healed. I just have a bit of numbness and stiffness below the nose now. It's only been one week though.
I definitely recommend it unless you scar badly. I've been at work two days and people just think I must've had more fillers. When I explain the procedure they can't believe how hard it is to tell.
Oh Dr Vasek said he took 6-7mm and I think it was skin and muscle.

Are you sure he cut a muscle too ? Most surgeon don't want to do that.

All the places I spoke to in Europe seem to. Maybe some don't like to as its more complicated, I assume it is. I'm happy though so in my case it seems to be fine

I can't tell about all Europe, but here in France, Docs don"t like muscle cut, I confirm.

Yea it was muscle. There was actually a surgeon in Paris I spoke to who said he cut muscle. I didn't find one who didn't!

I think they hem the muscle but to not actually cut the muscle. Is this correct in your case? I ask this because I had a muscle hemming lip lift and was told they do not cut any muscle, just hem it. They do this to help anchor it, otherwise when it is skin only it can pull the nose down due to the weight and stretches the skin. You have a great result. VERY pretty.

Possibly? Something was definitely done with the muscle as I still have some numbness now just in the area at the base of the nostrils and if this makes any sense, it just feels like something has been done, I might be feeling the anchored part!? Its fine either way, I guess I could ask but since I'm happy Im not overly curious. Maybe I will ask at some point whether it was hemmed ir cut

My gosh, I can't believe how fast you are healing! I too have been turned down by docs for the same procedure and my husband is so against it. I'm hoping in time I can find the right surgeon.

My husband did pull a face when I explained the new thing I wanted done but he's used to it with me and just goes along with it and hopes I know what Im doing! A couple of friends said don't do it as they thought it sounded a bit extreme but like i said I don't think it is, I've had fillers that have looked at worse!

Yeah people at work know I get bits done now and then, I got 4 colleagues onto Botox! They used to say how they would never use it as you see ropey celebrities and I was like "I've been doing it for 2 years!" They never realised and that changed their thinking on that!
I've had quite a few saying "how was your mums facelift in Prague? Did you have your lips done again??" I either say yes or if I have time or effort to explain I say what I've actually done to them this time and they come in really close and say "oh my god you cant even see it!"
I do wear medium coverage foundation. I have to all the time as I have hyperpigmentation on my forehead from the pill and sun. If I wasn't a makeup wearer the redness round my nose would probably look like I had a bad cold at moment.

I like it! I really want this done, but I cannot find a doctor in my area who will do this procedure for under 3000! I cannot afford that for such a small procedure. Where is your doctor located?

Thanks. A lot of places warned me about the scar but its only just two weeks post op and nobody has even noticed the scar with my normal makeup!
