Surgery

I had been thinking of getting my eyelids done for a long time and since I am now living in Prague,I decided to give it a go because of the good doctors and reasonable prices.
I did a lot of research and after reading reviews and looking at before and after pictures, I decided to have it done at Forme Clinic.
Communication through email was great! They have always answered my questions right away even after the surgery. It seems they are used to have more patients from abroad, so after care was one of my main worries.
I went to a initial consultation with Dr Vasek and felt confident, he really seemed like he knew what he was talking about and has years of experience doing this kind of surgery in Czech Republic, South Africa and Canada.
I wanted to go for transconjunctival blepharoplasty because of the scar and also the risks involved in having the transcutaneous type, but he assured me there would be no scar and, in my case, the transconjunctival was better.
I went to the clinic at 8 am on the day of the surgery and had a blood test done. My surgery started at 9 am. The nurses and receptionists were great and very sympathetic, I expected the doctor to be a bit warmer, but the nurses made up for it.
I took half a pill that I asked the name multiple times and never got it. They just said it was a "calming pill".
I was awake for the whole surgery, talking to the doctor and the nurse. I was super scared, but they were super calm and made me feel safe. They gave me an injection after the surgery which I believe was antibiotics, I asked what it was, but was confused because of the effect of the pill.
After the surgery they gave me a kit for after care with a mask, a gel for the incision and some medicine for me to take. The doctor also suggested Wobenzym, I took it for the first 5 days and then stopped.
I was putting ice bags every hour for the first 3 days and slept with 2 pillows. Day 2 and day 3 were the worst ones, then the swelling started going down.
The post surgery is a roller coaster, every day my eyes looked different and I confess I freaked out a little when I removed the stitches and one eye was significantly bigger than the other.
Removing the stitches on day 7 was the most painful part, but nothing too bad, I was happy I was free of the stitches.
Overall it has been a good experience, the doctor asked me to come back when I complete 1 month of surgery so he can follow up.
I am still worried about the asymmetry, especially with the upper lids since the height of the incisions are different, but I am still healing and the tissues are still settling, so I think it is too early to draw any conclusions.
