I had been thinking about a mommy makeover for years since I had my daughter at a young age and gained 70 pounds. I had loose skin around my lower stomach area. A couple years ago I got into fitness and lost a little of the "baby weight" I had been carrying for years. I had upper abs but the smaller I got the more my skin around my stomach sagged. My breasts also completely deflated. I loved the way my body looked in clothes and hated it naked.
I finally made an appointment for a consultation thinking I would just see what the cost would be. My doctor was amazing from the first time I met her. We decided to go ahead with breast implants and a mini tummy tuck with lower abdominal repair. She explained both procedures and how they would make me look. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost and scheduled my appointment. I never thought I could afford plastic surgery but I finally decided I would make it work some how so I could feel better about myself.
My pre op appointment was informative and my doctor and her staff were helpful and reassuring. I picked out my implant size and was given all my pre op and post op instructions and medications. I decided on 450 cc silicone gel implants.
I had my surgery first thing in the morning. I would highly recommend this. I was so nervous I don't think I could of waited all day. The nurses at the surgical center were wonderful and comforting. My doctor came in to quickly talk to me and mark me. She is so knowledgable and has a comforting presence about her. I felt very good about going into surgery after I talked to her.
Surgery took 45 minutes. I was very nervous about the pain afterwards but I was honestly so out of it from the anesthesia that I don't even remember the drive home. The first day home I slept a lot. I did get up and move around a little bit. My pain was very low and easily controlled by my medications. I never experienced horrible pain like I thought I would. I was very tired but I was able to easily move around without a lot of help. I took 9 days off work and felt fine going back on the 10th day. I was tired and swollen but I work a job where I am constantly on my feet and moving around.
All of my post op appointments were great. Even when I was concerned with how things looked in the beginning my doctor reassured me and she was right every time.
It is now 6 months later and I love my results. I feel so much more confident. My stomach is still a tiny bit swollen and a little tender. My scars look amazing. They are fading very quickly. My implants look and feel real. I would highly recommend a mommy makeover to anyone thinking about it.
