For years I've tried it all. Started going to Doctors when I was in my late 20's and have tried Rogaine, Vivascal and other herbal treatments. I finally decided to seek PRP when I saw it on Good Morning America. I've had two sets of treatments. First one at the end of June and the second one in August. I'm going to do my third and final one around November. The results are phenomenal. Not only do I see hair growth and yes, it's still coming in, but the condition of my hair has also improved. It's healthier and easier to style. I still use rogaine daily but stopped the Vivascal. The difference the PRP made is remarkable. I had diffused hair loss everywhere. While it hasn't filled in completely in my center part, I have had hair loss in that area since I was in my early 20's. The earlier you try the PRP the better. The sides and crown have really come in nicely. My goal was to get at least 5 years back on my hair and I've definitely hit that. Photos are labeled by date.

Dr. Dahiya has been amazing. He was very up-front on what I should expect from the procedure, how many I would need and my prognosis. He felt that it would be beneficial for my type of hair loss. He's been caring and his office has been so helpful in setting up the appointments and greeting and taking care of me while I'm in the office. Dr. Dahiya told me that it would not be painless, but he did everything to make me as comfortable as possible.

Wow, congratulations! You look great. :)

Are you doing any aftercare?

I still use Rogaine. I've switched to the foam kind and I apply it once a day. I use a full cap rather than the half that's on the box. I'll be going for another round of PRP in November and I can't wait to see results.

Makes sense. All the best for your November round! Can't wait to see the pictures. :)

Yes, I'm doing the Rogaine and I plan to go once a year for the PRP + acell shots
October 8, 2016
Thanks for sharing. I thought you had to do PRP every 6 months to maintain results?
October 10, 2016
My doctor said I can come back once a year to help maintain results. In some cases he would suggest 6 months.

So up to $3000 every year for life?
October 9, 2016
Did you do straight PRP or PRP + acell? Thanks!
October 10, 2016
I did PRP with acell.

Very nice results. Would you mind sharing the cost?
October 11, 2016
I'm not the original poster but have had 3 treatments. I paid $750 in Arizona. No A-Cell. The NP that did my treatment has done her husband and after 3 or 4 treatments he grew 50% of his hair back. I saw the before and after pics. Another dermatologist in town wants $1500 with A-Cell. I don't think it's necessary..
October 12, 2016
$750 per treatment or for all three?
November 3, 2016
$750 per treatment, newer protocol is fewer injections but deeper. Price is less as a result.
December 8, 2016
Which md/Np and what is the name of the office that you go to in Az.
October 9, 2016
So glad it worked for you. I'd love to give it a try. May I ask how much you are paying for each treatment? Also was A Cell mixed in with the plasma?
October 21, 2016
Do you have to shave the hair to receive prp treatment?
November 7, 2016
absolutely not. I'd never go for that.

Ive been losing hair slowly over the years, but now that I'm 51 it has really started to shed and becoming very thin. I an see such a noticeable difference even in the past few months. I see that this procedure has worked for you. How expensive are these treatments. And honestly how effective has it been.
November 7, 2016
Treatment has really worked for me, but it's not cheap. I have a lot of new hair growth and it's been growing for months. I will post some more photos after my 3rd procedure. The cost is $1500/treatment with Acell. I'll do my 3rd treatment and then do once a year maintenance.
November 6, 2016
I wish I could find a doctor who would do it for $750, or even the $1500 per treatment. The only one I have found where I live wants $5500 for 2 treatments 3 months apart. =(
November 7, 2016
if you don't mind the travel, you could go to my surgeon.
November 7, 2016
Thank you manoodesai. I live in WA State, so the price would be back up there by the time I pay for air fare and hotel. =) Thanks for the answer!
November 7, 2016
no problem. Hope you find someone cheaper. It takes all of 10-15 minutes using your own blood.. shouldn't cost so much :-(
May 3, 2017
Hi there ! Loved the results !!! I live in New Hampshire and here the treatment is expensive !! 750 is reasonable !! Did you have to take time off from work after injections ? Also can you share your surgeon name ? I won't mind to go to Arizona !! Thank you ! Ana

Wow that is fantastic I've been dealing with the same thing and have wondered if this would work. I definitely want to try it now!!
March 4, 2017
best of luck. It does help.
February 22, 2017
Your hair looks great! I was wondering if the procedure hurts? And if so how much?
March 4, 2017
I did have one or two sessions where it hurt quite a bit and others where it was not bad. i think it depends on if you hit a nerve or not.
August 28, 2017
It hurts even after the numbing injection but when its over the pain stops and you might have a slight headache the first two days but nothing to write home about as far as pain. I had PRP Aug 25th 2017 and its my second session and I have one more to go.
March 4, 2017
Im interested in doing this but what I am looking for is if it can thinking my hair shafts of the hairs that are miniaturizing...i have many hairs in priocess of miniaturizing that i want to 'fatten' up the strands.....Did that do that for you? or did it work to just stimulate resting follicles?
March 4, 2017
it definitely helps with that. It'll fatten up the strands. Yuu may see the miniature hair fall out a new ones grow in it's place.
March 9, 2017
Wow, your hair looks great! What other products are you using along with the PRP?
March 12, 2017
Hi Manoodesai,
Your hair looks amazing! I actually saw Dr. Harris who is based in the DMV area as well and does PRP also. Now did you do PRP with Acell? Also you mentioned $1500; is that per session with the prp or for all three sessions together. I'm actually now going to make an appointment with Dr. Dahiya because of your pics, you've given me so much hope. Thanks for posting!!

Nevermind, I just looked through all your earlier responses and it looks like you answered my question already. Thanks again!
