One of the best things I have done! Fears of scarring held me back for many years. In my case, scarring is minimal and it is so great to live a life without large boobs being the focus. I can exercise without two bras and buy almost any sundress I want!

Week 5 - Life beyond boobs!
Wednesday was 5 weeks for me and I’m very happy to report the best part about reaching this milestone is that there are moments when I forget about my boobs! After weeks of first worrying and preparing for the surgery, then recovering, wondering what scar treatment to use, tracking medications, changing bras every few hours because the one that was comfortable yesterday is now the most uncomfortable thing you have ever worn, etc… you all know the drill, it is a welcome change. Don’t get me wrong, they are still at the forefront especially when I get a zinger that stops me in my tracks, but I am now able to return to a nearly normal life. I returned to work 2 weeks ago but with a limitation of 5 hours per day – that combined with me 2 to 3 hour commute per day is about all I was able to do because I was totally exhausted at the end of the day. Next week, I return to a regular schedule and I’m ready – I hope. For those of you that returned to work after a week or two, you have my total admiration!
I purchased two bras this week. I was finding the comfort Bali bras didn’t provide the support I needed once I went back to work. One bra I purchased was a 36B and the other a 36C – yahoo! I had a difficult time finding a bra that fit the width of my breasts and the cup size. I think it is because I am still boxy. If it fit the width, there was usually a lot of extra space in the nipple area. I’m going to try not to buy any additional bras until I “settle”. I am still having significant swelling above my collarbone but was told today that it will just take time. All in all no major complaints – scarring kept me from doing this surgery years ago and based on how they look now, that shouldn’t scare women away. PS’s are so good at minimizing scars…I had visions of the stitch work they do in the ER and ps’s do it far better. Hope everyone is doing well.
