I had 2 fraxel restore treatments in the past couple of months, hoping to address acne scarring but particularly a burn scar I received on my chin from trying to laser my own face with the Tria Age-Defying Laser, which works like a much weaker Fraxel. The instructions said to use it 5 days a week, but I would not do that again. (WARNING: be VERY careful with that thing if you opt for it. It can yield minimal results but I had no idea how easy it was to overdo it and leave myself with a horrendous disfigurement). After I burned myself, I panicked and started rubbing away dead skin. I rubbed it past the actual burn area, peeling off healthy skin surrounding it. The skin was just rolling up like a carpet, and I freaked out thinking that if I rubbed it away over a wide area, maybe it would grow back evenly. But no, all I did was reveal a raw patch in the exact shape where I stopped rubbing it. It never fully grew back in after that, so it left a very wide, depressed scar on my chin with clearly defined red borders.

I then went to my dermatologist, looking for a solution to the mistake I'd made. He told me I would have beautiful results if I got Fraxel, and he thought I'd only need one treatment to fix the area, as well as other minor imperfections and a panoply of acne scars. Well, after one treatment, my chin was still disfigured, and even my fine lines and 11's, which I shouldn't have at 25 to begin with, were not improved much. I decided I must have resilient skin even though it's extremely sensitive, so I thought I'd do another.

I had my second Fraxel 4 days ago, and unfortunately some of the scabbing came off in my sleep last night, including the pretty well-tethered scabbing on my chin where my dermatologist primarily focused the laser. I think a lot of the scabs were not ready to come off, because I see some holes in my face in the same outline that scabs took. I actually think chin looks worse after the 2nd fraxel than it did after the 1st. I really hope it improves on its own over the course of the next few months, but with the way the lines around the scar are clearly defined and how the scar sinks inward, I'm not hopeful.

Side note: I actually had 3 fraxels before, 2 years ago, and at the time I thought the results were overall beautiful. While it gave my skin an orange peel texture and I knew I'd never have my naturally smooth face back, at the time it really felt like it was worth it to sacrifice the texture for improvement in my scars.

Today, my scars and the poor texture make me look much older in the face. I am very depressed because I have just always wanted to know what my natural face would look like if I didn't have scars. It seems like my skin doesn't heal like other peoples' skin. It seems to just not heal at all. I eat very healthily too. I can say I've never met or even seen another person on Earth with skin like mine. I have no idea if the texture will improve, or if this scar will ever fill in.

If anyone has any suggestions based on the pictures attached (which I took today), I would really appreciate it. I am desperate for a solution.

Omnilux has a yellow light which heals the skin after peels, surgery etc I would find someone that has one of these and start this asap as it really heals beautifully. It also stimulates collagen and gives your skin a youthful glow.
