When I was 3, I was hit in the face with a ball. My nose has been crooked ever since. When I turned 18 I decided to have surgery. The first surgeon I saw did an ok job, but it still was not great. Not only was it still crooked, but over time as it healed the tip became twisted. I also developed trouble breathing through one side of my nose. I was too scared and busy to have it re-done. So fast forward many years and I now have more time and money and decided I need to do something about my nose. I also started snoring. After talking to several doctors in the Portland area, I chose Dr. Chan. His style, and personality are the best. He is so personable and I always feel like he is listening and understanding everything I point out to him. After several visits and consultations, including a computer session where he did some mock-ups of my nose, I felt very comfortable moving forward. The first week was rough. I couldn't breathe out of my nose, and my face was swollen. It was not that painful but definitely uncomfortable. After 1 week, I got my cast off and right away I could see a difference. Dr. Chan reassured me that after the swelling goes down, I would see more definition in my nose. Because my surgery was a revision, he said it would take longer. Sure enough it took several weeks before I felt like my nose was at least regular in size. I am so glad I did the surgery with Dr. Chan. His office is amazing, and he is so caring. His expertise is top notch and I would trust him with my nose, face, and anything else cosmetic. Every so often you meet someone that you just know is the best in their field, and Dr. Chan is one of those people.
Thanks so much for paying it forward by sharing your personal story -- I'm so glad to hear you are happy with the outcome of your revision. You mention that you started snoring, do you snore less since your surgery? The community loves to see before and after photos, would you consider sharing some?
